Cougar Paw Prints 4/15

Our students have been having a great time learning and growing here at Kellond. The students loved watching the eclipse last week, thank you PTO for purchasing the glasses for us. We also celebrated our amazing para-professionals. Ms. Nita, Ms. Clare, and Ms. Sharon (not pictured) make Kellond a better place just by being here and we are so lucky to have them.

We are almost through the state test and our students have been wonderful. Huge thank you to the PTO for providing all of the incentives. Please find the balance of talking to your student about their performance while easing any test anxiety they might have. As always, make sure they go to bed on time, get a good night's sleep, eat breakfast that morning, and come to school on time.

We continue to have adults parking illegally to drop off and pick up their students. This includes leaving their car in the fire lane, in the accessible spots, and even in the middle of the lane in the parking lot. Even though it may be inconvenient for you, you must park your car in a legal parking space. If you refuse to follow the parking regulations, and continue to leave your parked car in the fire lane or the accessible spots, or if you are hostile and aggressive to the staff when you are asked to move your illegally parked car, the consequences could range from your license plate getting reported to you being trespassed from the campus. I truly do not want to do that. So please please park legally.

We realize that families are already starting to plan for promotion and need to know that dates. Kinder promotion will be Wednesday, 5/22 at 10am in the cafeteria. Space and seating will be limited. 5th grade promotion will be Thursday, 5/23 at 10am in the center courtyard.

It is finally here!!! We are so excited to bring you another wonderful family event. However, we have had volunteers cancel and we desperately need help. Please click here to lend a hand so our students are ensured a wonderful time!

• GAMES (planning, building, arranging/setting-up)
  
• ADMISSIONS (strategizing a smooth admissions process to eliminate long lines to get in, helping man the admission tables)
  
• CAR SHOW (contacting car owners, organizing voting materials, arranging participants, planning the trophy)
  
• DECORATIONS (inside cafeteria/ out in courtyard decoration planning and set up)
  
• FOOD TRUCKS (contacting, planning where they'll set up and coordinating set up on the day of event)

The locally owned coffee cart will be in the south parking lot on Wednesday, 4/24. Please park, buy yourself a cup of coffee and say hi to us.
