Dear MDE Families,

We are thrilled to have your children back in school, and we are off to a great start this school year. Our school theme this year is Peace, Love and MDE. We will have a schoolwide focus on kindness, and you will see lots of vintage themed decorations around campus. We also have MDE spirit shirts with a peace sign design that will be available for purchase at our upcoming curriculum night, or via the form that will come home in your child's backpack.

Curriculum Night is Tuesday, September 10th from 5:00-6:30 PM. This is a great opportunity for your child to show you around his or her classroom, as well as let you know what his or her academic goals are for this school year. You are your child's greatest cheerleader as he/she makes progress toward success this year!

As we continue through this year, please do not hesitate to reach out if I can help you in any way. We appreciate all of your support as we work hard everyday to help our students become successful scholars and citizens. It's going to be another amazing year at MDE!

• Student hours are 8:00-2:55. Please be sure that your child is here at 8:00.
• Breakfast and lunch continue to be free for all students. Breakfast is served from 7:30-8:00.
• We have the same uniform policy as we have had. Students need to wear any color polo with khaki, black or navy pants, skirts or shorts. Students should wear closed toed shoes, and we highly recommend sneakers on PE days. Crocs are allowed.
• If your child is going to be absent, please call the front office and let us know. A doctor's note is required to excuse any absences.
• If you are going to change the way your child gets home, please call the office and let them know before 2:00. 377-9000
