The Unionville-Chadds Ford School District (UCFSD) is thrilled to be celebrating our centennial school year! We invite all members of the UCFSD community to be part of our celebrations.

UCFSD requests feedback from all K-12 families on the curricula and programs up for review this year: Science, Information Media Services (Library), Special Education and World Language. By today, April 5, please take this survey to answer four essential questions for each area. Aggregate responses will be shared with the UCFSD Curriculum Council and with the area-specific curriculum committees made up of teachers and administrators.

During our Wednesday, April 10 In-Service Day, Unionville High School will participate in an Active Threat Exercise. This planned event is an effort to ensure the District’s emergency preparedness. To learn more, visit our website.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation recently announced that 16 Unionville High School (UHS) students have been named National Merit Scholarship Finalists! To learn more, visit our website.

The cast of Unionville High School's "The Little Mermaid" visited our UCFSD elementary school students in the week leading up to their opening. Cast members gave a preview of the show and taught the elementary students a dance to one of the numbers!

French students at Charles F. Patton Middle School (CFPMS) went on a “winter adventure” to Québec, Canada from February 15 to February 19! Some highlights of the trip included a guided walking tour of Québec City, touring and trying maple taffy on snow at a “sugar shack,” dog-sledding and exploring Parc de la Chute Montmorency.

Lucas and Lilliana Yates, two Unionville-Chadds Ford School District students, are winners of the American History Essay contest sponsored by the Chester County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Lucas and Liliana were recognized and read their essays at the DAR meeting on Monday, February 12.

Patton Middle School opened their musical, Anastasia, to a packed house March 1. Bravo to our talented middle school theater students!

The Chadds Ford, Hillendale, Pocopson and Unionville Elementary school's fifth-grade classes held their Oldies Dance on March 1 to raise money for UTHON and Kennett Area Community Service (KACS). It raised $2,200! They will donate $1,000 of the proceeds to UTHON and $1,200 to KACS.

"In order to write stories, you have to love to read them." Special guest Nick Bruel, author of the Bad Kitty book series, inspired all UCFSD elementary students to follow in his footsteps this Read Across America Week!

The Chadds Ford Elementary School Art Show celebrated its 75th anniversary on March 16! Founded in 1949 by the famed Wyeth family as a fundraiser, the show included more than 50 artists from the Brandywine Valley and beyond. Thank you to our CFES PTO for making the Art Show's "diamond year" a special one!
