Family Newsletter
Welcome to MMS and the 24-25 School Year!
August 22, 2024
Our first day of school is Tuesday, September 3. Families can help set the stage for success and a smooth start to the school year by beginning to implement "school night" routines a week ahead in preparation for the transition. All students will be able to receive free breakfast and lunch here at school, but all are welcome to pack their own lunch if they choose to. Remember to pack a water bottle. Be sure to dress for the weather, it is still summer and the classrooms can get very hot on a sunny, warm day. All students should have received their team welcome letter, along with their supply lists, and full student schedules are accessible in ParentVUE once the annual verification has been completed.
We will be sending out monthly family newsletters, like this one, throughout the school year. In this month's newsletter you will find information regarding our Open House, MMS Athletics, information about our activity/late bus for students who will be involved in athletics or after school activities, Parent VUE and after school pick up. Please reach out to us with any questions.
We hope to see you at the MMS Open House on August 29th from 5:00- 6:30 p.m. More information can be found about the Open House below. Thank you in advance for your support of MMS and we look forward to a great year!
Sincerely,
Kelly Grantham, Principal
Amy Troiano, Assistant Principal

Reminders from MMS School Nurse, Mrs. Dorr
Welcome to another school year! A few important reminders as the school year gets underway:
- Students must have a sports physical on file with me to participate in athletics and begin practice. Email a copy to jenniferdorr@rsu57.org.
- Reach out to me with any urgent medical updates or concerns as soon as possible, as it will take time to review all medical forms.
- All medications must go through the health office. Students may not carry medication at school.
MMS/MHS Late Bus
Students participating in after school clubs or athletics may access the MMS/MHS late bus.
In an effort to continue to provide this service, routes and stops were consolidated for the '24-25 school year. Please review the attached schedule, located on the RSU 57 Transportation website and linked below, for bus and stop locations.
Mustang Pride!
Please note that middle school students are encouraged to attend high school sporting events, but must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
