Principal's Message
Dear Ross Roadrunner Families,
It was great connecting with families at Back to School Nights. Thank you for your ongoing support.
Teachers will share materials from their presentations in their weekly updates for your reference.
The next teacher engagement is the October 6 Parent Teacher Conference Day. You will have a choice of a virtual or in-person conference. Conference sign-ups will be shared next week.
Picture Day is October 14! Individual and class photos are taken for purchase and for our yearbook. See the attached flier below and note that your child must have a media release on file to be included in picture day.
Warm Regards,
Holly Searl, Principal
Responsive Classroom
Our Social-Emotional curriculum at Ross is rooted in the Responsive Classroom.
We have been using the first weeks of school for community building in our classrooms, launching daily Morning and Closing meetings, co-creating class values, selecting class names and creating self-portraits for individual representation within the space.

LSAT
The Local School Advisory Team (LSAT) is a group of elected and appointed members that exists for every DCPS school. Thank you to the following parents and staff who have agreed to volunteer to serve on the Ross LSAT.
Parents: Shailee Adinolfi, David Alpert, Fatou Liddell, Marissa Poripato
Staff: Angela Cirillo, Cody Eickmeyer, Caroline Fogarty, Yerin Kim, Nikita Mehta

Immunization Compliance Updates
If your child is not current on all immunizations by October 5, they will not be permitted to attend school after that date. By now you have received an initial notification letter from Nurse Gordon and possibly the Dept of Health, with another coming through U.S. mail soon. Please note, this is not a Ross specific requirement; this is a DC Department of Health requirement for Ross as part of DCPS.
Please reach out to Nurse Gordon with questions, cdelancygo@childrensnational.org
Please note that all health and dental forms should be turned into Nurse Gordon and Ms. Segovia. Kindly review the immunizations flier and note that children who are not in compliance with immunizations will not be permitted to remain in school until updated.
