COMMUNICATION NIGHT - THURSDAY (4/3)
Appointments must be pre-scheduled, between 4:00-7:15 PM, through ParentVUE. To make an appointment for a virtual conference or in-person conference with a teacher:
- Sign in to ParentVUE (you will need to know teacher names (schedules in ParentVUE)
- Click on “Conferences”
- Select the times that are most convenient for you.
- You are only able to select ONE time slot per teacher.
- Time slots may fill up quickly and a few teachers will be unavailable that evening.
- If you are unable to get a time slot, email the teacher to set up an alternative way to receive information (e.g. phone call, email update, etc.).
- Click the ‘email me’ button to receive a confirmation of your scheduled time and teacher.

GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL TEAM
Mounds View High School is one of 51 high schools in the state starting a girls flag football team this spring, with help from the Minnesota Vikings. Registration is still open, but so far there are 25 girls registered for the team. Click here for the article:

FRENCH CLASS: Bonjour tout le monde! Tuesday (4/1) is POISSON D'AVRIL! Per French tradition, all French students will try and "fish" their teachers by sticking paper fish on their backs! (Ideally without them noticing.)
SCHOOL EMAIL ACCOUNT: It is important that you check your student account everyday. Administration, teachers and coaches use your email to communicate information for classes, events and campus life.
RAMS SOFTBALL: The softball team will be playing on Monday (4/7) at Irondale High School. Game starts at 4:30 PM in the Varsity Gym. Stop by , if you can. FREE admission!

ACT & MCA READING DETAILS - APRIL 8
11th Grade - ACT Exam (conclude no earlier than 12:15 PM)
Plan ahead! Students will NOT have access to their lockers until all testing is complete.
- Cafeteria will be open for breakfast and lunch will be available after the exam. Extended time students have a bag lunch option. Students may bring food and/or water for a snack break. Snacks are stored outside the testing room. Be sure to label with your name. Food and water are NOT allowed in the testing rooms.
- Photo ID is required (Driver’s License, MVHS Student ID or Passport).
- School issued chromebook required, fully charged.
- Library NOT OPEN.
- Batteries or calculators NOT provided.
- Click here for the ACT Calculator Policy. It is the student’s responsibility to bring an approved calculator.
- Cell phones, iPods, headphones, smartwatches, and similar electronic devices are NOT allowed during test sessions OR during breaks. If a student is caught using any of these items, their test scores will be invalidated.
- Bring multiple pencils.
- The Naviance ACT Test Prep program has practice ACT tests, practice questions and strategies for taking the ACT.
- Test results mailed from ACT 3-8 weeks after the testing date.
- Students with their own transportation or a ride may leave after completing their tests.
- Students remaining until 3:15 PM dismissal, will have a scheduled lunch and supervised activities.
10th Grade - MCA Reading
Testing will conclude no earlier than 10:30 AM--there is no time limit, and some students may require additional time.
9th & 12th Grade
E-Learning day from home due to the large number of teachers proctoring exams. Teachers will set expectations in advance for students.

US DISTRICT COURT WORKSHOP
Greetings from the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota! Registration is now open for a one-time summer offering for high school students on the landmark Supreme Court case Near v. Minnesota, which set important precedent for freedom of the press in America.
The Supreme Court and My Hometown is an immersive, in-person civics education program cosponsored by the court, the Supreme Court’s Historical Society, and the Annenberg Foundation. Students will:
- Study a Supreme Court case that originated in Minnesota
- Engage with the case’s Constitutional questions and procedural history
- Examine how the Judicial Branch interacts with the other two branches of government
- Create a capstone project to promote increased understanding about the case
- Learn from legal mentors, professors, and historians

DELTA JOB SHADOW OPPORTUNITY
We have a few more spots available for the Delta Job Shadow on April 22. To attend, you must complete all of the following steps:
- Register on this website.
- Students must join the Google Classroom and complete the Pre Work, which is due on April 4.
- Print the Junior Achievement Permission Form and return it to Mrs. Klimek. You can either put it in her PO Box or bring it to room 127D.
- Complete the Google form with the required additional information.
NOTE: Students over the age of 18 on April 22 will need to have their legal ID photocopied by Mrs. Klimek to share with Delta to allow you through TSA Security. You may use a driver’s license, state ID, or passport number along with the expiration date. Students will also need to bring this ID on the day of the field trip.
Students must complete all steps to be eligible for this opportunity. We are limited to 40 students and we will give preference to 11th/12th grade. We are hoping this opportunity can be an annual experience. If you have questions, contact Mrs. Klimek at danae.klimek@mvpschools.org

MINNESOTA TRADES ACADEMY
Interested in the areas of construction? Apply for the Minnesota Trades Academy, which is a paid 8-week summer internship that gives you an introduction into various career paths in construction and the building trades industry. Applicants must be 16 or older and apply by Wednesday (4/16). There will be a virtual info session for interested students on Tuesday (4/8) at 6:00 PM. Contact Mrs. Hendrickson if interested!
CLASS OF 2025 - SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
The Wallin 2-Year scholarship is now open. This scholarship is for any senior who will be attending Anoka Ramsey, Anoka Tech, Dunwoody, Century College, St Paul College or Minneapolis College and have a financial need.

CHANGE TO TENNIS TRYOUTS
CLARIFICATION TO BOYS & GIRLS LACROSSE TRYOUTS
Per the MSHSL, spring sports first day of tryouts/practice are as follows:
- March 10: softball, boys track & field, girls track & field
- March 17: boys golf, girls golf, baseball, boys volleyball
- March 24: boys tennis **new date is March 31**--on the no school date
- March 31: boys lacrosse (meet on no school day March 31)
- March 31: girls lacrosse (March 31 is no school day for MV, so tryouts/practice would be Tuesday (4/1))
Your child must have a valid sports physical on file prior to registering. Physicals are valid for three (3) years from the date of the exam. IF your child's physical expires during the season, you won't be able to register. Parents can check the current status of their child’s physical through their ParentVUE account by selecting the Student Info tab. The physical date is located at the bottom of the page.
