Principal's Message
But this year, all of my siblings were home. The ONLY person missing this year was my oldest son, Jack who stayed in the Pacific Northwest for the holiday. To say I didn't miss him would be a lie. But at the same time, I knew he was ok and was with family, so that made it easier.
This year, I was thankful for my family and friends. More than that, I was thankful that life is ever changing. That the seasons of life change and while there is inevitable loss with change, that there is new growth that is found with that change.
I hope that your Thanksgiving holiday was brought you peace, happiness and joy.

PTO
The Murphy PTO does not do any fundraising as a PTO. Instead we ask families to make an annual donation to the PTO. These donations help us to provide classroom grants, student events, staff appreciation, community awareness and much more. Please consider making a donation. In addition, any family who donates $25 or more will receive one free ticket to the Murphy Monster Mash!
The PTO can accept credit card payments for annual donations. You can also make your family’s annual donation via SignUp Genius by clicking on this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0445aaaa22ab9-20192020 UPDATED LINK. If you prefer to send your donation in with your student, please print out the form below and send it to school with your student.
For more information on the Murphy PTO, upcoming PTO events or volunteer opportunities, please contact PTO President Missy Dziewiatkowski at missyd71@gmail.com or 630-999-3927. Please also follow us on Facebook for PTO events and updates (Murphy PTO-Home of the Mavericks).

Every Student. Every Day.
Ms. Alesia (6th Math) - Mrs. Alesia’s sixth grade math students began a new unit today. Students were introduced to the new unit of fractions, decimals and percents by reflecting using a KWLA activity. Students worked in small groups to gather all of what they knew about fractions, decimals and percents. Once they finished that, students listed what they wanted to learn about each of these topics. We charted our conversation onto a class chart. Students will revisit the last 2 columns at the end of the unit to reflect on their progress, thinking and learning.
Ms. Waldron (8th ELA) - 8th grade students are participating in a Socratic Seminar using the pilot/ co-pilot model
