Welcome Back to School!
Winter Break is Over & The Students Are Back for 2025

π Welcome Back to School from Winter Break! π
Dear L'Etoile du Nord French Immersion Families,
I am very honored to join the LβEtoile du Nord French Immersion School for the remainder of the 2024-25 academic year as your Interim Principal. Since joining LNFI in mid-November, I have quickly recognized what an incredible team of educators are leading and guiding your children each day. I want to express my sincerest enthusiasm and optimism to be working collaboratively with the LNFI community. A little about me: I most recently served as the Middle School Assistant Principal at Capitol Hill Gifted and Talented Magnet School, and I am grateful to have worked with Saint Paul Public Schools as a science teacher at Highland Park Senior High School, as well as having experienced numerous roles in our summer session programs. While my profession is in education, my most celebrated accomplishment is my family. We celebrate four children pursuing post-secondary degrees spread across four University of Wisconsin schools, a 7th grader navigating middle school life, and lastly, two 5th graders in their final year of elementary school. We are passionate about sports (soccer, hockey, and football are some of our favorites), we enjoy outdoor adventures (kayaking and camping), and we love traveling to visit extended family as much as time allows. While my focus during the day will primarily be with our students and staff, I always welcome visitors, phone calls, and emails. Please reach out any time with questions and feedback about your experiences at LβEtoile du Nord!
Sincerely,
Interim Principal Lauren Bolopue

How to find out if we have a weather-related delay/closing:
SPPS follows state education guidelines that allow districts to offer e-learning days due to inclement weather. The district may call a non-instructional day or e-learning day if:
Wind chills are forecasted to be -35 or colder at 6 a.m. OR
Snow makes it too difficult for our students and staff to safely get to school
Saint Paul Public Schools uses Blackboard Connect to communicate with families during emergency situations, including severe weather, that may affect the school day. Contact information for Blackboard Connect is synced with the district's student information system, Infinite Campus.
SPPS uses a variety of methods to inform families, staff and the community about school closures and cancellations including spps.org, local media, social media, and direct communication through email, text messages and phone calls. Families should make sure their contact information is up-to-date through Campus Parent.
πππ Staff Spotlight πππ
LNFI is known for our dedicated and experienced teachers. Whether you have been connected to our school for years or this is your first experience, we want to introduce you to our amazing team. You may see familiar faces or some brand new, but everyone is part of our story and why we love working at LNFI.
This week's featured teacher is Mme Faltesek - She has taught both Kindergarten and Pre-K at LNFI, and she is leader on our marketing team. If you see a post on our website, a shout out on social media, a sign in someone's yard, or a t-shirt out at a summer park, chances are high that Mme Faltesek had something to do with it. Not only is our staff grateful for Mme Faltesek's promotion of L'Etoile du Nord French Immersion School, but our Pre-K students LOVE their classroom activities and learning!
