A Note from the Principal
We celebrated 100 days of school on Tuesday and I can already think of 100 reasons why Westmoor is so very special!! Hello Westmoor Families! I am Jeanne Banas and I am thrilled to serve as the school’s Interim Principal for the next several weeks during Maria’s leave. As I told the staff, I am fully aware that I will not be able to fill her shoes, however I am committed to supporting students, staff and parents until she returns.
A little about me - I retired from North Shore School District 112 in Highland Park in June of 2016, after serving as principal of both Ravinia and Red Oak Schools. My "retirement" was short-lived, as I returned that August as the Interim Principal of Lincoln School, guiding the school through its closing in June 2018. I then moved on to Madison School in District 69, providing administrative support from 2018 to 2020. Since then, I have cherished time with my family, our children and, most of all, watching our nine grandchildren who are, of course, “practically perfect in every way” grow!
I look forward to meeting you in the coming days and weeks.
Bulldogs Rule!

Interim Principal

Enjoy the little things!

How Many Kindergarteners Will We Have?
Kindergarten registration is underway! Each year we welcome a new class of learners to District 28, but we actually do not know how many 5-year-olds we will welcome in August until we have them registered. We use this early registration to prepare for the next school year. We need to plan for staffing and classroom space…Please help us out by registering this week, and sharing this information with any friends or neighbors who have a child who will be 5 years old on September 1st. No fees are required until April. Contact the school today or visit northbrook28.net/kreg to get started!
Please visit the Kindergarten Registration webpage for more information. Contact Administrative Assistant Tracy Ferraro with questions.
