September 13, 2024
👋 Dear Middlebrook families,
Our first full five day week proved to be a great success! With only 13 days behind us, children are already learning to be role models in the hallway, dine with manners, be courteous in line and take turns as needed.
This week our Middlebrook Mentor applications were given out to any interested Grades 3, 4 or 5 student. Any student submitting paperwork was given clear directions and know that this process fosters their ability to plan, write and seek recommendations. What a wonderful way for our children to learn about leadership at a young age!
As always, we wish you a wonderful weekend with family and friends. Please read below for all the important dates, recognitions and events.
Best,
Ms. Ponte, Principal
Ms. Molloy, Assistant Principal

School Attendance
As a school community, we continually strive to promote regular attendance here at Middlebrook. We welcome and appreciate open communication between school and home; therefore, please reach out if you need assistance with getting your child to school each day and in a timely fashion. Parent and school partnerships enable us to best support our students to ensure success at school.
"Chronically absent is defined as "a child who accumulated a total number of absences at any time during the school year that is equal to or greater than ten percent (10%) of the total number of days that such student has been enrolled at the school during the school year."

🙌🙌🙌🙌
Congratulations to Miss Ekstrom and Mrs. Civitella on earning tenure! Their dedication and hard work have truly made a difference. Both were recognized at the Board of Education meeting this past Tuesday. We are so fortunate to have you as part of our school community, and we all look forward to seeing your continued positive impact in the years ahead!
Hispanic Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to celebrate the culture, history, and contributions of Hispanic Americans to the USA. It is celebrated from September 15 to October 15 each year in order for us to recognize the contributions of Hispanic Americans in our country.
Taking time to learn about Ellen Ochoa, the first Hispanic woman to go into space, or modern day Lin Manuel Miranda, the writer of “Hamilton” opens our minds to the wonderful diverse individuals who influence our country and children. It is a time for reflection, time to share stories and the opportunity to understand how experiences have shaped who we are today.
In celebrating the diversity of our school, we are able to recognize the Latino community so that all feel appreciated and welcome. We continually strive to find avenues to broaden the compassion and inclusivity of our Middlebrook community.
Band and Strings
Now is the time to enroll your child in our band and strings programs. Please use the link below to access information and enrollment instructions. Students love working with Mr. Turechek, our band teacher, and Mrs. Savkovic, our strings teacher.
