That’s because success comes to those who consistently put in the effort, push through challenges, and refuse to give up.

Three Steps to Success in Elementary School (and How to Support Students Along the Way)

1. Stay Organized & Manage Time
   How to Help: Parents and teachers can encourage students to use a planner or calendar to track homework, projects, and test dates. Creating a quiet, distraction-free study space at home also helps students focus.

2. Practice & Ask Questions
   How to Help: Encourage curiosity! Remind students that asking questions is a great way to learn. Teachers can provide extra practice activities, and parents can engage in learning by reviewing homework together or playing educational games.

3. Stay Positive & Keep Trying
   How to Help: Foster a growth mindset by celebrating effort, not just results. Praise students for their hard work, even if they make mistakes. Remind them that every challenge is an opportunity to learn and improve.

So keep pushing forward, stay focused, and trust that your effort will pay off. You are capable of great things!

If a student must miss school, here are the following guidelines:

• A written excuse, signed by a parent or guardian, must be presented to the student's teacher on the day they return after an absence.

• For absences due to extended illnesses or students who have missed more than ten days of school, a statement from a healthcare practitioner may be required.

Si un estudiante debe faltar a la escuela, aquí están las siguientes pautas:

• Se debe presentar una excusa por escrito, firmada por un padre o tutor, al maestro del estudiante el día que regresa después de una ausencia.

• Para ausencias debido a enfermedades prolongadas o estudiantes que han perdido más de diez días de escuela, es posible que se requiera una declaración de un médico.
