This week...
Welcome back - we are now in our final half term of the school year!
Our Year 5/6 children enjoyed a residential trip to Robinwood this week. They made us so proud! Not only did they push themselves in terms of conquering fears and trying new things, they also conducted themselves in such a beautiful manner. Behaviour was exemplary throughout the entire trip, and the 'Night Ninjas' (Robinwood overnight supervisors!) said they'd never had such a well-behaved dorm full of boys!
After our Skipping School workshops on Thursday, the instructor came to find me to mention how wonderful our children are and how refreshing it was to teach a group of children who demonstrated such kindness and care for each other. She had it hadn't even felt like she had been working!
We already know what fantastic children we have but it's always great to hear when other people recognise this too!
Thank you, as always, for supporting us to
Live, love and learn with the Lord.
Mrs Ronicle
Robinwood Residential
Well done to our super St Therese Class, who did themselves proud our their residential this week. Please see our Twitter/Facebook accounts for further photos!
Donation!
We are incredibly grateful to Nisa Locally and the University of York, who have made a very generous donation, which will help with fundraising towards our upcoming school library project!
Cricket workshop
Huge thanks to one of our parents, Dr Scott, who came in to lead a cricket coaching session with our Year 5/6 children this week. They thoroughly loved it!
Skipping School
Recycled Paper
We are pleased to announce that we have become a 'recycled paper' school!
Not only does recycled paper help us to protect our planet, but the reduced contrast between the white paper and dark font/images can help ease visual strain for children with Dyslexic tendencies.
Special Lunch - 19th June
Please see below the special celebratory menu available for 19th June.
Attendance Update
Whole School Attendance this week: 93.8%
We do still have a number of families taking term-time holidays. We hope that next year, you would consider booking family breaks in one of the many school holidays, so that our children can get the best possible education!
Thank you for your help in supporting our children to be in school,
where we are able to help them to achieve their best!
We have been learning...
St Nicholas (Nursery)
Our topic this week is 'The Three Little Pigs'. We have been playing matching the picture to the correct house and a lotto game.
Our number of the fortnight is 'Eric Eight'. We have sorting coloured bugs into the correct bowl and counting them, up to eight!
St Francis (Preschool/Reception)
In RE this week, we heard about St Peter telling people about Jesus' good news and how people then became part of God's family. We learnt about how we are also part of God's family and painted our self portraits to show this.
St Bernadette (Y1/Y2)
This week, as part of our RE learning, we've been thinking about the story of Jesus calming the storm. We created our own storm with a boat and blue tarpaulin. We took it in turns to try and calm the sea, while everyone else was making it crazy and realised it was impossible so Jesus had performed a miracle!
St Patrick (Y3/Y4)
In History this week, St. Patrick's Class this week have been learning about the War of the Roses and the start of the Tudor period. We acted out how the throne changed hands many times before Henry Tudor was crowned King.
St Therese (Y5/Y6)
This week, our St Therese children enjoyed a fantastic three days at Robinwood outdoor activity centre. They took part in all sorts of exciting activities such as the giant swing, caving, climbing, canoeing and the deadly piranha pool!
