Prayer for Fathers
Loving God,
We thank you for the gift of family, and especially the gift of our fathers and grandfathers. We ask you to bless all fathers and grandfathers as they strive to serve you and to love, support, and care for their families. Be with our fathers and grandfathers as they work to be true examples of discipleship to our families.
Amen

Catholic Performing Arts Festival
The Catholic Performing Arts Festival is coming to an end. Last week, the choir performed to an outstanding standard. Congratulations to the 30 students who were invited to the Shield Playoffs today. It is quite an achievement to have this number of primary school students get to this level. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Ms Draper, the parents, and the staff who have supported the student's participation in the numerous and varied sections throughout the festival.
Senior Community Mass
Thank-you to the students who attended and sang in the choir at the Community Mass last Saturday evening. This Mass was dedicated to fathers and grandfathers and was also the Commitment Mass for our Year 3 students who have started their journey in preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Father Greg Donovan led an interesting parent faith formation session last week. His focus on God’s love, mercy and forgiveness rather than sin was an important takeaway for parents who are about to support their children in their preparation for receiving this sacrament.
Sacrament of Confirmation
Please pray for our Year 6 students as they approach the final preparations before receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation.
LifeLink Fundraiser
Thank-you to the Social Justice Team for organising the Pyjama Day on Wednesday to raise money for LifeLink. $365.05 was raised to pass on to Lifelink. "Each year, many thousands of Western Australian families and individuals, people struggling right here at home in WA, will reach out to a LifeLink agency for help. They extend their hands to us, the homeless, the unemployed, families experiencing desperate financial hardship, women and children escaping domestic violence, people with disability battling addiction, or dealing with mental health issues." Thank-you for your generous donations.
Education Pillar
Science Week
We have had a special focus on Science for the last two weeks. Students have had opportunities to engage in additional scientific tasks and share what they have learned with each other. Thank you to our dynamic Science Specialist Teacher, Mrs Hogan, for the way she passionately embraces ‘all things scientific’.
Book Week
“There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate’s loot on Treasure Island.” - Walt Disney (American entrepreneur, animator, writer, voice actor and film producer.)
The book week parade showcased many colourful and vibrant costumes to promote the love of reading. It was fantastic to see so many students dress up in character and bring along the related book.
Angelico Art Competition
Thank-you to Miss Purio and the families who attended the Angelico exhibition last weekend. This was a fabulous opportunity for students and families to see personal artwork presented professionally. It also presents opportunity to be inspired by the art of others.

Fathers' Day Breakfast
This morning, we had the pleasure of hosting fathers, father figures and families for the P and F Fathers’ Day Breakfast. Congratulations to the team of P and F volunteers that made this wonderful event possible. We would like to wish all fathers, grandfathers and father figures a happy Fathers’ Day for this Sunday.
Kindergarten Fathers’ Day Evening
On Thursday evening, I also had the pleasure of attending the Kindergarten Fathers’ Day Evening. The Kindy students joyfully worked with their dads and father figures to create some amazing box cars. The final products were fabulous and most importantly some treasured memories were made.
Homeless Food Service
Thank-you to the families and staff who cooked and provided wholesome food for the homeless this week. The money raised by the Social Justice Team was used to supply hand warmers and bottles of water. These were very popular items. Thank you to the staff members who served the food to the homeless in the city.

Another Good Reason to Get Them Running
If exercise was a living breathing thing, it would have its own talk show for the stellar things
it does. Its importance to physical health has been long established but in recent decades, there has
been an ever-expanding body of research that has demonstrated the importance of exercise to
mental health, particularly in terms of its ability to reduce stress and depression. Recently, a fascinating study has added to this research demonstrating the importance of
exercise to cognitive function.
