Scholarship Night
On January 25, 2024 Rockledge High School hosted the Horus Scholars Scholarship night for seniors. The event has tables for colleges, workforce opportunities and military branches. Students walk around and speak to advisors in the hope of being accepted and offered scholarship money. At least three of our students were offered scholarships.
National Honor Society
For the month of January, members of the National Honor Society participated in a service project in partnership with Matthew's Hope of Brevard County. They created 45 Blessing Bags which were delivered to Matthew's Hope. These bags will help to serve their homeless clientele and continue their mission to: "foster the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of the homeless men, women and children of our community by meeting basic needs, developing skills and restoring dignity and independence."
Spanish 1 Students
Ms. Lopez's class interviewed ESOL students in Spanish. They had to talk, listen, and write in Spanish to get a grade on this work. They try so hard to communicate with each other. This experience created empathy in them as they realized how challenging it can be to try to communicate in a language that is not their native language. They helped each other to see how they worked together as a community without dividing into groups, some even exchanged phone numbers. It was a great lesson for them and for me!
Fellowship of Christian Athletes
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes have been meeting regularly on the first Friday of each month. Students enjoy food and fellowship!
