Panther Weekly
December 20, 2024

Dear Park View families,
As we approach the holiday season and the start of a new year, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to our incredible parent community. Your partnership, support, and dedication are at the heart of what makes our school a safe, welcoming, and engaging place for our students to grow and thrive.
Together, we’ve created an environment where learning is celebrated, friendships are nurtured, and every child has the opportunity to shine. Thank you for all you do to support our school—from volunteering your time to cheering on our students and helping them succeed each day.
I wish you a holiday season filled with warmth, joy, and special memories with your loved ones. May the new year bring happiness, health, and continued success for your family.
Thank you for being such an essential part of our school community. I look forward to an exciting 2025 together!
Happy holidays,
Mrs. Mate
You may have heard from your students about some of the fun activities staff were part of this week, inspired by the holiday classic Home Alone. We incorporated the students into some of the fun too! To top it off, staff members had the chance to win cozy items through a special raffle, all thanks to the many families who provided donations. Our teachers are ready to relax, recharge, and come back stronger than ever in 2025. Thank you to all of families who helped make this possible for us this week. Take a look at some of the pictures below!
Find a creative way to build a snowman
Jump around and have fun
Gingerbread houses
The staff gathered in teams to build gingerbread houses. The students then voted on the one they thought was the best.
Panther Proud Winners
Congratulations to our December Character Trait Winners for demonstrating outstanding empathy! These students have shown exceptional kindness, understanding, and care for others. Whether it’s helping a friend in need, listening with compassion, or including others in activities, they embody what it means to walk in someone else’s shoes. Their actions remind us how important it is to create a supportive and welcoming school community. We are so proud of these students for being role models of empathy
Thank you to the PTC and all of our wonderful volunteers for organizing such an amazing winter party! The students had a fantastic time, and your efforts truly made the event special. We are so grateful for your continued support and dedication to our school community.
Panther Pride event date change-March 14
We want to let you know that the PTC Panther Pride event has been rescheduled from March 7 to March 14. Please mark your calendars with this new date, and stay tuned for more details, including opportunities to volunteer and support this exciting event. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we make this adjustment, and we can’t wait to see our Panther community come together for a night of fun and school spirit!
PTC Parent Trivia Night
Attention all Park View parents! We had so much fun last year, we are bringing it back again this year! Join us for a memorable night out with trivia, food, drinks, games, raffles, prizes and more. Whether you are a trivia pro or newcomer, this event is for everyone. Registration is now open.
Information about lice
We have recently received multiple questions from families about lice at Park View. While there have been a few individual cases over the last several weeks, these instances were spread out in time and grade level. None met the county’s criteria for notification of an outbreak. More information about lice is available from the Illinois Department of Public Health. If you have further questions, please contact our school nurse.
