Good Afternoon Woodbury Middle School Community,
Finally, we had a beautiful weekend to enjoy the great weather! It was a fantastic ending to our spring sports last week. All the teams showed their Warrior pride and represented well. A big thank you to their outstanding coaches for giving so much to help our student-athletes enjoy a positive school-wide experience.
Attention 8th grade parents. If you ordered a graduation yard sign for your graduate, they may be picked up in the main office from 7-3 or by special arrangement with the office. Yard signs will not be allowed on the bus.
WMS will host an information night for incoming 6th-grade parents. A review of programs and other information will be reviewed. This will be a parent-only meeting. Incoming 6th-grade students will visit WMS on June 4th and enjoy an activity sponsored by their respective parent organizations.
I have attached a message from the Nonnewaug Athletic Department for incoming freshmen below (our current 8th graders).
Important - Please plan accordingly for summer vacations. Golf starts their season on August 12th. Football follows with OTA’s (Organized Training Activities) on August 15th. All other fall sports start on August 19th. This is a significant change that needs to be considered with family planning. These dates were determined by the CIAC and are the same for all sports throughout Connecticut.
Also, our homecoming games for 2024 will occur on 9/19. The homecoming dance will happen on the 20th. Please mark your calendars.
Summer fitness room- Trainer Sean McGee will be on site to monitor the training room over the summer. We encourage all athletes to establish a routine and take advantage of this opportunity. The fitness room will be open from 3:00 PM-7:00 PM on Monday through Thursday. He will also be here on Friday from 7:00 AM-11:00 AM.
