Principal's Comment
Kia ora families
Parking behaviours outside the school continue to be a concern, especially at the end of the day. I'm often hearing complaints from neighbours about how cars park across driveways, park on yellow lines and double park. I've also heard of some near misses with children trying to negotiate their way around cars parked illegally. For the safety of our children and out of respect for our neighbours, please be careful parking around the school.
We are hosting two special events at Onekawa School next week. On Tuesday we hold the whole school cross country day. This is a house event and house points are up for grabs!
- Maadi house to dress in green
- Flanders house to dress in blue
- Menin house to dress in red
- Gallipoli house to dress in yellow
Please see your classroom teacher if you are unsure of which house your child is in. Parents are most welcome to attend.
On Friday we have Daffodil Day to raise funds for the Cancer Society. We would appreciate it if children wear yellow or something floral for they day. We would also like it if children can please bring along a coin donation to go to the Cancer Society.
Have an awesome weekend Whanau!

Robotics at Onekawa School
Year 5 and 6 robotics offers an exciting way for our Onekawa tamariki to develop their critical thinking, innovation and coding skills. Robotics education prepares children for the future. Here are our tamariki building and then programming their robots to achieve a real-life problem set for them. Innovation at its best!
