Back to School Edition
Welcome Back Message from Mr. Norby
Dear Armstrong High School Students and Families,
Welcome back to a new school year! We're excited to have our community together again and we hope you're as eager as we are to embark on another year of learning, growth, and achievement.
Exciting News and Opportunities
This year, we are proud to announce that Armstrong High School has been nationally accredited by the BARR Program (Building Assets Reducing Risks). This recognition reflects our commitment to fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every student can thrive.
With over 1,800 students, Armstrong High School offers a vibrant community full of diverse opportunities. We have numerous clubs, activities, and sports programs available for students to explore their interests, develop new skills, and make lasting friendships. We encourage everyone to get involved and make the most of what our school has to offer.
New Horizons in Career and Technical Education
We are thrilled to share that we have applied to become a NASA HUNCH Center of Excellence. This initiative, part of NASA's High Schools United with NASA to Create Hardware (HUNCH) program, will provide students with hands-on experience in creating hardware and culinary products for NASA. This exciting opportunity is part of our expanding Career and Technical Education offerings, designed to prepare students for a variety of career paths and to ignite a passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Get Involved: Students and Families
Your involvement is key to our success. We invite students to explore new interests, challenge themselves academically, and participate in extracurricular activities. Parents and caregivers, your support and engagement are invaluable. Whether through attending school events, joining the APA (Armstrong Parent Association), or simply staying informed, your involvement makes a difference.
As we look forward to the year ahead, let's work together to make Armstrong High School a place where every student feels safe, valued, and empowered to succeed. We are here to support you every step of the way and are excited to see what we will accomplish together.
Here's to a fantastic 2024-25 school year!

Armstrong does not have a standard supply list for students. Teachers will tell their classes during the first week of school if there are any special supplies needed for that class. However, you may want to purchase these basic school supplies before school begins.
Visit the School District website for information about Parent Portal, online payments and more
Robbinsdale Area Schools participates in Minnesota’s Free School Meals Program. All students can get one breakfast and one lunch free of charge each day at school. Although no application is required to receive this free meal benefit, filling out the Application for Educational Benefits is still important. Your student may qualify for other benefits like reduced fees at school. Your application may also help the school qualify for education funds, discounts, and other meal programs.
Juniors and Seniors may apply for Late Start/Early Release and/or Open lunch. Read all Requirements before applying.
Complete this form as well as submit payment before receiving a parking permit.
Any student that wants use of a school locker please fill out the locker request form. Students need to provide their own lock if using a school locker.

Announcements
School Expectation Reminders
Armstrong community, we ask that you start having family discussions about personal devices in the classroom. The expectation at AHS is that devices are put away for learning. We understand the importance of being able to communicate with your student, we ask that you remind them to check or use passing time and lunch to engage in those communications. Students that continue to be on their devices during class will lose the privilege of having their phone at school during the day and will be expected to lock it up in the student support center. Devices have been huge distractions in the classroom, we appreciate your support as we work together to ensure all of our students are successful!
