INCOMING PK AND KINDERGARTEN FAMILIES: If your child attended the ECLC for 2024-25 school year, you already have a Sycamore account set up, please contact the school office if you do not have your login information. Do NOT set up a new account!
*Registration for Daycare and Aftercare will need to be completed via paper registration. Fees for aftercare and daycare are $25 per student.
REMINDERS
MORNING ARRIVAL
We have some safety concerns that need to be addressed. In the morning for arrival, parents are to enter the gravel driveway located next to the white house and the church on Madison Pike. Drop off will begin once your vehicle safely is next to the designated yellow cones. In order to unload in a timely manner, we ask that you do not wait to drop your student off until you reach the front door. Everyone must unload by the yellow cones. Also, for the safety of our students and staff, no one should be parking in the center of the lot to walk their child across the line of traffic. All students need to be dropped off in the drop off line exiting on the right side of the vehicle closest to the yellow cones. If you must assist your child with carrying an item into school, we ask that you please enter the drop off line and wait until you can safely pull into one of the 2 designated spots at the entrance of the school. No cars should be entering directly from the top lot. Thank you for your attention to this safety matter.
CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK
The students had a blast on student appreciation day participating in various "Minute-to-Win-it" games and cheering for the 8th grade versus faculty volleyball game!

PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Our physical education program has been bustling with a variety of engaging activities! Our kindergarteners were recently introduced to the parachute, which quickly became a favorite among the little ones. They enjoyed a series of fun games that not only brought laughter but also fostered teamwork and cooperation.
Meanwhile, students in 1st through 3rd grade dove into a comprehensive basketball unit, focusing on essential skills and drills. Their impressive basketball handling skills shone through, and many students had the opportunity to explore new techniques and strategies on the court.
For our 4th through 8th graders, we dedicated time to mastering volleyball. The students worked diligently on serving the ball over the net, as well as perfecting their bump, set, and pass techniques. The emphasis on teamwork truly enhanced their experience, and the progress they made was remarkable.
Overall, it has been an exciting period filled with growth, collaboration, and a lot of fun!
CAFETERIA NEWS
CAFETERIA HELP NEEDED!!!
We really need help in our cafeteria on a daily basis. Great way to earn Parent Partnership hours. Kitchen Help will assist the cafeteria with serving food. Cafe Monitor will assist students with opening items and cleaning tables.
You must be VIRTUS compliant. Parent hours need to be logged in to Sycamore for approval!
DRAMA CLUB 2024-25
Almost time for some DRAMA!
The Drama Club students are in the final stretch of practice for their production of "Alice @ Wonderland". The students are perfecting their songs, choreography and lines to make this a must see for all ages. Everyone should be off script now and gathering things for their costumes. If you have a child in the production, please go over their lines with them and make sure they have everything they need for their character. If you are having a difficult time finding costume ideas, please let Ms. Kohl or Mrs. Rahschulte know ASAP so we can help. Dates and location are March 21 and 22 at Simon Kenton. Let's make this our best yet!!

PTO MEETINGS
Our next PTO meeting will be on Tuesday, March 11 at 6:30pm in the undercroft. All parents with students at St. Cecilia in grades Pre-k through 8 are welcome to attend!
STAGETTE
Our annual Stagette will take place on Saturday, March 15 at Receptions in Erlanger. If you still need a ticket, please email stagette@stcindependence.org and we will get back to you!
Each grade has been assigned a theme to bring in items for your grade basket. Please reach out to your room parent or email the Stagette Committee with any questions! stagette@stcindependence.org
SWEETHEART DANCE
Save the Date!!! Our Sweetheart Dance will take place on Friday, February 21 from 6-8pm in the Undercroft.
1) TO PURCHASE SWEETHEART DANCE TICKETS PLEASE FILL OUT THIS FORM AND SEND IN YOUR $20 CHECK (made out to SCPTO) or cash to school by FEBRUARY 14. We are limited to the first 200 people who sign up and pay, so get your RSVP in quickly!
2) We need many volunteers to make this event happen! Sign up to volunteer here (You must be VIRTUS trained!)
3) We are also requesting help in donating items to make this event a success! Please sign up here to donate items (Thank you so much!). You can drop the items off at school to the front desk, marked "PTO Sweetheart Dance" OR if you are bringing in uniced cupcakes, please drop them off at the undercroft on Friday, February 21 between 5:45 and 6pm or email the pto to arrange a cupcake pick up time!

DINE TO DONATE
Our next Dine to Donate will be Tuesday, February 4, from 5pm to close at Barleycorns in BOTH the Florence location (8544 US Hwy 42) AND/OR the Lakeside Park location (2642 Dixie Highway)! Flyers will be sent home in the red family folders today! Present the flyer or tell them you are there for the St. Cecilia Dine to Donate and our PTO will receive 10% back!

2025 Spring Soccer Registration is now OPEN for ALL age groups - U4 through U14
If your child would like to play soccer for St. Cecilia this Spring, please register them as soon as possible, as February/March will be here before we know it! You can register your child(ren) and to coach by clicking the link or QR code below:

Additional Info:
- If you are a first-time user, please create an account to register.
- You only need one account per family.
- If your child needs a new jersey (U8/U14 only), please register early to help ensure it comes in before the season starts. $40 cost for jersey and child keeps for future seasons.
- All U4/U6 players will receive a new team t-shirt at the start of each season.
- You will receive an email confirmation after your registration is completed.
- Once teams are finalized, you'll hear from your coach regarding game schedule and other team information.
- All players are organized onto teams based on their birth year in accordance with the United States Youth Soccer Association. If you wish for your child to play up a level, please contact us at soccer@stcindependence.org to see if accommodations can be made.
If you haven’t had an opportunity to coach your child(ren) in soccer, it is a fun experience and a great way to give back to your school. If you'd like to volunteer to be a Head Coach or an Assistant Coach, it's asked that you be Virtus compliant. This is a Covington Diocese requirement for all school activities. If you need information on the training, please reach out to me separately, and I'll point you in the right direction. This must be completed prior to the start of the season!
