Skimmer Challenge 2025
1st hour Engineering and Technology students have been learning about two measuring systems, the U.S. Customary Standard system and the metric system, and they have practiced measuring using a ruler in each system. The goal was to introduce both systems and teach the students how to use a ruler to measure accurately. They all had to learn how to read dimensions on a sketch. Then they used a dimensioned sketch to build a paper skimmer. In this section, students looked more closely at the skimmer dimensions to ensure that they understood exactly how big to build their skimmers. This is ALWAYS such a fun activity and the students love this project. Lots of collaboration, time spent really thinking through the process, and even a little smack talk makes this a pretty fun learning experience. Addy Boling won this class's skimmer tournament followed by Andrew Tuell in 2nd, Bentley Norton 3rd, Jacob Orso in 4th, and Korbyn Brinegar in 5th.
Incubating Chicken Eggs
Principles of Agriculture students have been studying the Chicken species. The students are currently incubating chicken eggs. The classes candled eggs last week and will do another candling check prior to the eggs being hatched the week of March 10. The goal is to gently take each egg, place it near the candling light, and check for the development inside the egg.
Most Dangerous Game
In February, the 9th grade English classes read "The Most Dangerous Game." The students then created travel brochures or maps of the island based on details in the story.

Art Show
NEEE Beta Club will be hosting an Art Show on Thursday, March 13 from 5:30-7 in the school gym. The cost to attend is $1 per person. All students K-6 have been working hard in Encore Art to create many art pieces to showcase during the show. The Beta Club is also doing a silent auction with art pieces that they have created on their own. All proceeds go to the Beta Club to help them go to Nationals in Orlando, Florida during the summer.
Synchronous E-Learning Success
February 14th was a new experience for our students and staff as we navigated our Synchronous Learning Day—and what a success it was! Attendance was superb, and thanks to prior practice, students were able to engage and interact smoothly. Both teachers and students were pleasantly surprised at how well the day flowed!
While nothing beats face-to-face learning, having the ability to connect and learn remotely is an invaluable tool in today’s world. We are proud of our students for their adaptability and excited about the possibilities technology offers for education!
Great job, Northeast East Elementary! #ProudToBeNEE #SynchronousSuccess #LearningInAllWays
Valentine's Day with Kindergartners
Check out the scenes from a Valentine's Day party put together by the Northeast East Elementary Kindergarten parents. They did a great job, and fun was had by all!
What is Glowing On?
Kindergarten had a classroom celebration today because they had completed the task of working to fill up their group reward cup by showing classroom excellence. Kindergarten had fun…but so did the adults. Ms. Whitney wiggled in some speech work and Kindergarten wiggled in some math work… even during a party!
Dr. Seuss Celebration
Northeast East Elementary recently celebrated Dr. Seuss with a fun-filled day of Seuss-inspired activities! The celebration kicked off with Seuss jokes from Principal Hannon, who visited each classroom to share Grinch Kisses (Hershey Kisses) with the students. Everyone showed up dressed in their favorite Seuss shirts, and the school was buzzing with Seuss-themed activities. Students sculpted the Lorax, made Seuss Soup, measured with "One foot, Two foot," enjoyed reading many Seuss classics, and even drew The Cat in the Hat. It was a truly Seussical day full of fun and creativity!
