We Welcome our Guest, Reverend Reginald Avant, on Sunday, October 14, 2018.
Rev Avant was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and raised in Compton and Ontario California. He graduated with a B.S. degree in Christian Education and Physical Education in 1983 from Biola, a Christian Liberal Arts University. After college, he taught and coached football and was very active in his Presbyterian home church with the youth group. It was during this time he felt God’s call to ordained ministry in the Presbyterian Church.
In the fall of 1985 he began his seminary education at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton Massachusetts and graduated in 1991 with an MDiv degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary. Rev Avant has served as an Associate Pastor, Interim Pastor, Solo Pastor, and Hospice and Palliative Care Chaplain.
