The Governing Board voted to accept the consent agenda items. Items listed under the consent agenda motion are considered to be a regular course of procedure and are acted on by the Board of Trustees in one motion.
There is no discussion of these items prior to the Board vote unless a member of the Board, staff, or the public requests specific items be discussed and/or removed from the agenda. It is understood that the administration recommends approval on all consent items. Each item on the consent agenda approved by the Board of Trustees shall be deemed to have been considered in full and adopted as recommended.

The Governing Board approved the new salary schedule for the Occupational Therapist as part of the Consent Agenda. On May 2, 2024, the Governing Board approved the updated Occupational Therapist job description. Attached is the new salary schedule to allow for an in-house Occupational Therapist for better recruitment and retention.

As part of Measure R modernizations projects, Sartorette Elementary School planned for the addition of a preschool area within the campus. A preschool area can be developed at the relocatable classrooms on the north side of the campus Rooms 17-20. Finney Architects obtained bids from vendors and the results of the public bid opening held on May 23, 2024. A total of six (6) contractor bids were received covering the six (6) different construction trade bid packages. The bid results are attached. • Bid Package A, General Trades • Bid Package B, Ceilings • Bid Package C, Plumbing • Bid Package D, Doors and Hardware • Bid Package E, Fencing • Bid Package F, Fire Alarm There was only one bidder for each of the trade packages. All of the bidders were deemed responsive. District staff and Mark Finney, the District’s Architect, believe the bids were reasonable based on the scopes of work. Bid Package E, Fencing, in staff’s opinion should be rebid with an adjustment to scope. Bids from the apparent low bidders in each trade packages A through D and package F have completed evaluation. The contractors found to have submitted the responsive low bids for each of the five (5) trade packages are as follows: • Bid Package A: Build Corp. • Bid Package B: Spacetone Acoustics • Bid Package C: Georges Plumbing • Bid Package D: Eastman Construction • Bid Package F: Sound and Signal The performance of these contracts will be paid from a combination of the Measure R bond account and Fund 40, Special Reserve for Capital Projects.
The Governing Board approved the renewal of legal services agreement with Dannis Woliver Kelley Law Firm for 2024-26 as an Information & Study Item. Cambrian School District wishes to renew the legal services contract of Dannis Woliver Kelley (DWK) law firm for the fiscal years 2024-25 and 2025-26. DWK has almost five decades of experience in handling legal items related to school districts. DWK has made some changes to the billing ranges for the 2024-26 fiscal years.

Cambrian's team of Instructional Specialists, Debbie Clima, Courtney Hammett, Christine Katz, Andrea Pickering, Chrissy Terwilliger, and Emily White, will provide an overview of their primary roles and responsibilities to provide instructional support to the sites.

The Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, Mr. Lin Nguyen, provided a summary and reflection on the actions per the District’s Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). The presented summary outlined the LCAP for the Cambrian School District, as well as the actions and services for improving student outcomes according to the eight priorities set by the state in alignment with the District's Local Control Accountability Plans.
This was an opportunity for the Governing Board to discuss and provide input before the staff brings the Final LCAP for the 2024-25 school year for the Governing Board's approval at the next public meeting on June 20, 2024.

Ed Code Section 42103 requires districts to hold a public hearing prior to the final adoption of the district's proposed annual budget. Dr. John Pappalardo, Chief Financial Officer, shared an overview of the 2024-25 budget and the three year projection. This was an opportunity for the Board to discuss the 2024-25 proposed budget.
This was also an opportunity for the Governing Board to discuss and provide input before the staff brings the Final 2024-25 Budget for the Governing Board's approval at the next public meeting on June 20, 2024.
