Falcon Ridge Family Updates
September 3, 2024
News and Tidbits
I hope you had a wonderful three-day weekend with your family!
We had a high falutin' time at our first Cowboy Up spirit day! Students sported their western wear and cowboy hats from Kindergarten to 8th grade.
What sets Falcon Ridge apart from other schools? Our unwavering commitment to rigor, both in academics and character development. Current research studies indicate that America has dropped to the middle of the pack for student achievement, but at Falcon Ridge, we are determined to rise to the top.
This year, our theme is Cowboy Up: Raising the Rigor. We believe in holding our students to the highest standards, not just in their schoolwork and homework, but also in their manners and behavior. At Falcon Ridge, we are dedicated to helping our students grow into responsible, respectful, and well-rounded citizens. Together, we will ensure that every student leaves our school prepared to excel in all areas of life.
Please take a moment to read this week's flyer for upcoming events.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jorgensen

Farewell, Mrs. Turben
We have loved having Mrs. Turben as part of the Falcon Ridge family these past few years. She will enjoy being a stay-at-home mom, and will not be a stranger at Falcon Ridge. Please join us in welcoming Mrs. McCleskey, who will begin next week.

Safe School Pick-Up
As part of our continuous commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all our students, we kindly remind you of our designated student pickup protocol.
For the safety of our students, we ask that you please adhere to the following guidelines during the student pickup process:
Designated Pickup Spot: Please arrive at the designated pickup spot indicated by the school. This helps streamline the pickup process and ensures a smooth flow of traffic.
Teacher Supervision: Our teachers will be present at the pickup spot to assist with safely escorting students to your vehicles. This also allows us to verify that the student is being picked up by an authorized person.
Communication: If there are any changes to the pickup routine, such as a different authorized person picking up the student, please inform the school office in advance. This will help us avoid any confusion and ensure the safety of your child.
Patience and Courtesy: We kindly ask for your patience during the pickup process, especially during peak times. Your courtesy towards fellow parents and staff is greatly appreciated.
By adhering to these guidelines, we can collectively maintain a secure environment for all students. We sincerely thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Thank you for your ongoing support in prioritizing the safety of our students.
Middle School Sports Practice and Home Games
Middle School Sports Practice and Home Games
We are so excited that the sports season has begun! Here is some important information regarding practices and home games:
Elementary students and siblings must be accompanied by an adult and can come to games when doors open
Siblings of students can not stay after school during practices due to not have staff to supervise students who are not participating
The main doors will be unlocked at 3:30 for home game guests
PTO Corner
Families, we are less than 2 weeks away from our Fun Run!! Your student(s) should have brought home flyers with some of the details of this activity. The run will take place on Sept 13. Families and parents are invited to come and cheer on their students or even run laps with them. Students will be running per grade with the schedule as follows:
Kin 10:00-10:30
3rd 12:00-12:30
All middle school 2:00-2:30

The funds raised from this event will go back into their teachers classroom accounts. We encourage you to help your child make safe contact with neighbors, family, and friends for pledges. Donations may be turned in early, or due back by Sept 20. We are excited to see many of you on Sept 13.
