Superintendent's Newsletter
February 2024
Message of the Month
Dear School Community,
The month of February went by quickly. It is my hope that the recent school vacation was enjoyable for all our students and families. Throughout the past month, our students have continued to develop their academic skills and make the most of the learning opportunities presented to them. With spring around the corner, we are excited about the months of ahead. Although our schools are already preparing for next year through budget development and planning, the remaining months in this school year will certainly be filled with memorable learning and school-based events.
Please enjoy the reminders and highlights below in this month's Superintendent's Newsletter.
With all respect,
Michael S. Nelson

Learning Walks
This month the administrative team witnessed great teaching and learning at Rochester Memorial School, Center School and Old Hammondtown School. There was high engagement in student learning as evidenced by the amount of collaboration between student peers as well as between teachers and students. Learning environments were set up to be calm and students were comfortable asking questions. Paraprofessionals were supporting both individual or small groups with seamless transitions. We are grateful for the continued commitment from our faculty and staff!
