Crane R-III District Updates
From the Superintendent's Desk
2024-2025 School Year
2nd Quarter Review
District News
Budget Updates:The district was fortunate to receive ESSER funding to help offset costs related to the pandemic. Unfortunately, those funds have now been depleted, and with the rising costs of everything, our expenses have increased as well. As we plan for the upcoming school year, we will be exploring ways to reduce expenses. Please know that we remain committed to providing the best possible educational experience for our students, even as we navigate some tough decisions in the coming months. While you may hear about upcoming changes that may not be popular or desired, our primary focus will always be on educating our students. I want to make it perfectly clear, that the Track project was funded through a bond issue that was approved by the public, and as such, it must be completed as originally presented in the bond proposal. Additionally, we would like to emphasize that the new sports programs recently added have been implemented at no cost to the district. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Ground Breaking Ceremony: On December 4, 2024, we marked a significant milestone with the official Groundbreaking Ceremony for our new track. Joined by the Table Rock Lake Chamber of Commerce, our Track team, coaches, the Crane Pirate Band, school administrators, board members, Representative Bruce Whaley, and many other community members, we came together to celebrate this momentous occasion!
Track Progress: It's been exciting to watch the progress of our track project across Hwy 413! While some final grading may still be underway, the main work will resume when Spring arrives. We're eagerly anticipating the completion of this project and want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported the No Tax Increase Bond Issue that made this possible.
Attendance: We appreciate your continued support in making attendance a priority for your children! The state expects us to have 90% of our students here 90% or more of the time. In the graphic below, you can see our current percentages. As always, we do not want you to bring your students to school when they are sick, but we do ask for you to consider the other days your child misses school and how an appointment here or a special day/trip here can impact their overall attendance.
AMI Days: Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) Days provide a way for us to make up school hours lost due to exceptional circumstances, such as inclement weather or emergencies. If an AMI day is needed, we will notify you of the specific assignments your student should complete from their packet. AMI packets were distributed to each student already. If your child cannot find his/her packet, please reach out to their teacher or have them ask their Pirate Time teacher. Any assigned AMI work will be due on the first day students return to school in order for the student to be counted present for that day. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us stay on track, no matter the weather!
App Update: Our Crane R-III App has been updated. The new update creates a more streamlined way of seeing messages and posts. It also makes toggling back and forth between the app and Rooms easier so you don't miss important messages from your child's teacher(s). Depending on your phone settings, app updates might have to be done manually so double check.
CSIP Updates: As we have shared in previous communications, our school has an Continuous School Improvement Plan, which is our district's plan to improve our schools! There are multiple areas of this plan that drives everything we do at Crane. Each month, at every board meeting, we provide an update on one of the goals. You can find the reports here if you are unable to attend our board meetings. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to any of our administrators.
Free or Reduced Meal Applications: Please help our district by filling out a Free or Reduced Meal application. Remember, you can re-submit these forms any time your income changes. Watch the video found here to see how filling these forms out can help our school district!
