MAP Testing
Map testing schedule ( January 17th-January 24)
Dear HSA - Plano Families,
Our campus will be participating in MAP® Growth™ test from NWEA from January 17th to January 24th, 2022..
MAP Growth scores help teachers check student performance by measuring achievement and growth from the begging to the middle of the year. Teachers use results to tailor classroom lessons and set goals for students.
MAP Growth tests are unique, and it adapts to your scholar’s responses to measure your scholar’s skill level. If your scholar answers a question correctly, the next question is more challenging. If they answer incorrectly, the next one is easier. These results will provide a more complete picture of what your scholar knows and is ready to learn—whether it is on, above, or below their grade level.
Our campus will be following the schedule below:
Since MAP Growth tests provide immediate and accurate information about your scholar’s learning, it’s easy for teachers to identify students with similar scores that are generally ready for instruction in similar skills and topics, and then plan instruction accordingly.
MAP Growth reports also provide typical growth data for students who are in the same grade, subject and have the same starting performance level. Each school year, students in grades K-5th grade take the tests (Math, Reading & Science) in January. Following each testing period, you will receive a Family Report showing a summary of how your child is performing academically.
We are truly excited to focus on your child’s individual growth and achievement. For more
information about MAP Growth, visit NWEA.org/familytoolkit.
As a reminder, the campus will be closed to all visitors, including parents, on testing days. This includes lunch drop-offs. Also, please do not plan on picking up your child early on a day he/she is testing (Avoid scheduling doctor’s appointments on these dates) as students are not allowed to resume an unfinished test. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
To safeguard your child’s success on MAP® Growth™ test, please do the following:
- Please make sure your child is well-rested and arrives on time to school (7:30 AM).
- Your child is prepared to test and eats a good breakfast the morning of testing.
- Please encourage your child to do his/her personal best on the test as it can greatly improve your child’s self-confidence which in turn will lead to better test performance.
· All testing materials will be provided by the school.
· Students who have breakfast in school will be offered breakfast.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email Dr. Fidan at ifidan@harmonytx.org
