Hoover Highlights
GUSD Student Voice Panel
Last week, 3 of our students did an amazing job representing Hoover by participating in the Student Voice Panel. They voiced their perspectives on topics that affect our school community. They posed for a photo with GUSD's wonderful superintendent, Dr. Darneika Watson.
Hoover Tornado Marching Band
On Saturday, the HTMB earned 1st Place and High Percussion in Division 2A at the Gahr Invitational! They are currently the highest scoring band in the Division, which means they have earned the last performance slot of the night for this Saturday.
They will be performing at Hoover on November 15 so please come and support!

College Week is Nov. 18-22
This special week is designed to promote a college-going culture and provide valuable resources to help students explore and plan for their college journey. Throughout the week, we will have engaging activities, workshops, and opportunities for students to gain insights and support for their college applications and future aspirations. We encourage all students to participate and take advantage of the resources and activities available. Your involvement and enthusiasm will make this event even more impactful. Stay tuned for more details, and we look forward to seeing everyone join in and make the most of College Week!
Adult ESL Classes Interest Survey
Parents/Guardians, are you interested in learning English? Glendale Community College's Garfield Campus will offer free ESL (English as a Second Language) classes on Hoover's campus beginning in Spring 2025.
These classes will be taught by staff from Glendale Community College's Adult Education Program (Garfield Campus) and will be held Monday through Thursday for 4 hours each day.
Please click on the link below and complete the survey by November 18, 2024. A minimum of 15 participants is required for the class to be offered.
Note: Completing this form does not enroll you in the class, program, or school. It only provides Hoover High School and GCC with your contact information for follow-up steps regarding potential enrollment.

Subaru "Share The Love" Event begins Nov. 21st
We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Subaru of Glendale, which has chosen Hoover as its hometown charity for the Share the Love Program. Through this partnership, Subaru will be donating proceeds to Hoover to provide scholarships for our seniors. Last year, over $64,000 was raised. This year, we are excited to support the Class of 2025!
This year, the Share the Love event runs from November 21, 2024, to January 2, 2025.
If you are planning to buy or lease a new car, please consider choosing Subaru of Glendale and selecting Hoover High School as the hometown charity. Subaru of Glendale will donate $250 for each car purchased or leased during the Share the Love event.

Academic Progress - 15 week grades are due this Friday. If you have a “D” or an “F,” take action! Be sure to talk to your teachers, attend your assigned EO classroom sessions on Wednesdays and Fridays, and go to tutoring for help.

- Next Tuesday will be our College Application Swarm in the Collaboratory from 8:30 AM to 3 PM! This is your opportunity to dedicate an entire day to work on your college applications, receive assistance and PIQ feedback, and submit your applications if ready!
