Our 2nd graders were hard at work this week reading & writing about Science! Take a look at how students drew, organized, and wrote to explain facts about the Earth.

A reminder that there is no school on Friday, February 14th & Monday, February 17. Enjoy the long weekend!

Our Book Fair wraps up on Thursday, February 13th. If students would still like to purchase anything from the Book Fair, they will be allowed to visit the iLab before school or during their recess time to do that.

Our Early Literacy Office is excited to share a special event designed especially for kindergarten families.

Topics include:

* Myths and Facts about literacy development; including how to leverage speaking in the home to promote reading

* Using district digital tools to enhance literacy at home

English: February 19th, 2025 @ 5:30-7:00 pm

Spanish: February 25th, 2025 @ 5:15-7:30 (during PIE Night)

Friends and families of Indian Peaks Elementary School are invited to attend a free upcoming Mini Música: The Three Little Pigs performances at the Longmont Museum and Cultural Center on Saturday, March 22nd at 10:00am and 11:30am.

The beloved children’s tale, The Three Little Pigs comes to life in the form of “Mini Música” – an interactive, bilingual educational concert for young audiences. Featuring a 16-piece orchestra and a narrator who dances and sings in English and Spanish, Mini Música is designed to engage young children through a musical telling of a classic children’s story.

We are excited to share that starting in the 2025-2026 school year, St. Vrain Valley Schools will offer five-day-a-week preschool programs.

Indian Peaks will be hosting a Preschool Open House on Tuesday, February 11th from 4:00-5:00. If you have students who are ready for preschool or know of any families who have “preschool-ready” students, stop by to learn about Preschool Programming at Indian Peaks!
