Superintendent's Memo
HI Team,
This week is the Superintendent’s Public Speaking competition. I am very much excited to hear our students and listen to their speeches. This is an amazing event showcasing our students. I want to thank all staff who support this even at the schools so our students have this opportunity. Also, a huge thank you to Bri for organizing and collecting all the information, the facilities team for setting up, the tech team for supporting us with sound and online viewing, MW and JT, the MCs, and the other central office staff who helped in planning and supporting this event. Stay tuned for the results.
As you prepare to take a well-deserved break, I encourage you to take this opportunity to relax, rejuvenate and spend time doing the things you love. Whether it be catching up with family and friends, or just enjoying some quiet time alone, make sure to take care of yourselves!
I do love Spring as it is a season of new beginnings, growth, and renewal. The best part of me is the melting of the snow (and I can’t wait for this to happen!!). The trees begin to bud, the flowers bloom, and the grass turns green and blooming flowers.I generally take so many pictures of the changes in this season as I do enjoy the beauty of it.
Take care and have a great break,
Rhae-Ann

Indigenous Peoples Atlas of Canada Education Kit and Floor Map
Royal Canadian Geographical Society has worked collaboratively with several Indigenous and ally educators and organizations from across Canada to create the Indigenous Peoples
Atlas of Canada Education Kit and Floor Map. Rather than political borders, this map shows the locations of Indigenous communities, residential schools, reserves and more. The map shows Canada as being broken up into Indigenous language groups rather than provinces to represent the precolonial movements of indigenous peoples and provide imperative education to all. This resource will assist students and teachers alike in understanding the past, present, and future of Indigenous Peoples in Canada.
PSBAA has received a copy of this kit and floor map, which is 10.7m (35.1’) x 7.9m (25.92’), to be utilized by our members for free. The kit contains a floor map, teacher’s guide and hard
copies of the learning activities.
To request to utilize this map at your school please contact the PSBAA Office!
