March 2025 Newsletter
Wonderful families,
Our students are in the midst of learning about animals within our Pet Unit of Study and Cooperation through our Character Strong curriculum. I encourage families to talk and ask students questions about their learning. Additionally, I encourage families to contact your child's teacher or team if you have any questions or need support. The following attachment echoes the district's expectation of communication.
Take care & have a great month ahead.
Ms. Michelle, ELC Principal

Safety Town
The Barrington Junior Women's Club invites children entering kindergarten or 1st grade to register for Safety Town 2025! Safety Town is a week-long educational summer program that teaches participants vital safety lessons through activities and demonstrations. An outdoor miniature town gives children a hands-on experience using safety skills while riding trikes and acting as pedestrians. Registration opens at 9 a.m. on April 3, 2025! Click here to learn more.
Kindergarten Transition
For families with a child entering Kindergarten in the 2025-26 school year, the website below provides valuable information about Kindergarten. A survey link is available on Infinite Campus for ELC students transitioning to kindergarten. Please complete this asap.
Please note that all Kindergarten-eligible students must transition to Kindergarten, as state guidelines do not allow them to remain in the ELC for an additional year. Kindergarten eligibility is defined as children who turn five years old on or before September 1st.
The ELC PTO hosted a meeting discussing Kindergarten transition; below are the slides and helpful visuals to help support the transition.
