Thank you to Cummins!
A leadership group with Cummins has continued to be a major support of Seymour Intermediate students and families through donations of Thanksgiving Meals. This year, counselors- Mrs. Kinard and Mrs. Woods, were able to accompany the Cummins leadership to deliver twenty meals to our students and their families.

Semester 2 and Literacy
During the 2nd semester, SI teachers and instructional staff will be focusing on literacy during our W.I.N. intervention block.
Literacy refers to a student's ability to read and is made up of five essential components: phonics, high frequency words, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. It's crucial to address all five, as many students find reading challenging without a solid foundation in each area. Through our literacy instruction we aim to improve not only on reading skills, but also reading stamina.
You can help your student build on their literacy skills by reading to them or having them read to you at least 20 minutes a night. This might be your student reading recipes to you, reading from a magazine, or reading their library book.
Winter Weather Procedures
Please review the attached letter from Superintendent Brandon Harpe that summarizes key school procedures SCSC will follow during potential school status changes due to winter weather. This letter was also emailed to all parent/guardian addresses in Harmony.
eLearning Instruction Formats
If winter weather makes it unsafe for students to physically attend school, one of the following instructional formats may be used. Please familiarize yourself with each format and the educational requirement of each.
