Falcon Band and Color Guard
In memory of Samuel Thomas McBurnett
A Memorial Fund has been set up in honor of Clear Lake High School Band alum, Samuel McBurnett. For Samuel, band was an integral part of his high school years. The family would like to give back to an organization that was so near and dear to Samuel. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation at the following link. We are grateful for your thoughts and prayers during this time.
MARCHING UNIFORM TRY-ON and DISTRIBUTION TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 13 AFTER SCHOOL- VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
I know it’s been a while since we’ve had a uniform update, but this year the band has changed over to an all-new marching uniform ensemble and it’s taken a little longer for all the pieces to come together. The long-sleeve shirts the kids will be wearing over their bibbers (as opposed to the jackets of the past) came in last week, and marching uniforms are now ready for a full try-on.
Wind and percussion players will receive uniform tops and bibbers after school this Tuesday. They will need to try them both on at this time and we will have a crew of parents taking notes to see what, if any, alterations need to be made. Color guard costumes have still not come in, but we are hopeful they will be here before the game on Friday. We will go by the following schedule:
2:45 Seniors
3:15 Juniors
3:45 Sophomores
4:15 Freshmen
All winds and percussion students must come to the band hall after school on Tuesday, September 13 to try-on their long-sleeve shirt with their bibber that we issued right before school started. The kids will need to bring what they typically wear to marching practice (athletic shorts/t-shirts) to change into before trying on their bibber and long-sleeve shirt. We’ll check the fittings one last time and then the students can take their marching uniforms home.
We’ll need 4 volunteers to help that day - if you can help, please let me know; volunteers are asked to arrive at 2:45.
The plan is for the band to be in full marching uniforms for this week’s game on September 16. On Friday/game day, the kids must bring to school their band duffle bag packed with their gray heat uniform t-shirt, bibber, shorts to wear under the bibber (nothing too bulky), long-sleeve uniform top, shako in the box, black marching shoes, and TALL black socks (we switch from no-show to tall socks once we’re in full uniforms). The wraps for the shakos will be distributed at the game prior to the half-time show.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Erin Harris

All hands on deck for our marching contest on October 1!
We are hosting a marching competition on October 1!
All hands are going to be needed to pull off this event, and it is a huge fundraiser for our band program! We are hoping to raise $8,000-$10,000 with this event but we will need your help!
We are going to need a setup crew starting at 7 AM, bus and truck parking crew, ticket/box office crew, ushers, Airgram sellers, Band Check-in, Warm-up monitors, ushers/ concourse monitors, Adjudicator hospitality and press box monitor, and finally clean up crew. Those jobs will be in addition to our regular volunteers needed for other contests.
I also need someone to be in charge of the event and band volunteers.
