Wildcat Weekly 3/31- 4/4

Hi Wildcats! πΎ
Hi Wildcats!
As we approach Spring Break in a couple weeks we wanted to send a reminder about the importance of attendance. We typically see a decline in attendance close to school breaks. See the graph below which shows Pomerado's attendance rates (blue line), compared to the PUSD elementary average attendance (red line) for the month of February. You can see that our school's attendance rates were significantly lower than other PUSD elementary schools before February break.
As a reminder, our school funding is based on attendance, not enrollment, so absences not only impact student performance and progress but they also impact the funds we receive. You can see the impact on our funding in the bar graphs below for the month of February. The graph shows the number of daily absences and the amount of funding impact of those absences.
We understand that students need to stay home when they are sick and appreciate your efforts to stop the spread of illnesses. We also appreciate your partnership to encourage school attendance as much as possible. If your family needs support or is experiencing a hardship getting your student to school, please contact our Office at 858-748-1320 - we are here to help.
We are looking forward to another wonderful week at Pomerado!
Mrs. Julie Goldberg
Proud Principal of Pomerado Elementary School
π’Traffic Circle Safetyπ
Cars must go all the way through the traffic circle and not turn left into the school to avoid it.
This can be very dangerous. We ask that everyone help keep our school safe by following the rules.
Thank you for your cooperation and partnership!
