It is September! What a busy month we have ahead. Spirit Week and the Fun Run are next week. Please see above for dates and below for the many details.

We loved seeing parents in the lunchroom this week. Sign up below to eat lunch in the cafeteria with your child and know that we have music on Fridays!

Hi Riverview Families,

This is your opportunity to be included in the 2024-2025 School Directory. It is an "opt-in" basis only, this is not mandatory. If you want your student's information included, please fill out the google form below. It will be available until Wednesday, September 11.

Information about the Riverview Student Directory:

· Directory information is completed on an annual basis and participation in the directory is completely optional.

· To be included in the directory, your child's first and last name, grade, and teacher must be included; all other information is optional.

· Per District policy, a parent/guardian is the only person who may enter a student's information.

· If you do not submit the online form, your child will NOT be included in the directory.

· The directory will be emailed out through Skyward/Family Access and will be available through May 2025.

· Information will appear in the directory exactly as you enter it on the online form and once submitted, it may not be edited after September 11th.

· If an error is made on a submitted online form or the online form is submitted before you finish, complete the online form again and resend. The last entry made will be what is published in the directory.

· If a child has more than one address and you would like both published, you will need to complete a submission for each address.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

This directory has been compiled for the sole use and convenience of Riverview Elementary School parents, students and staff. All names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses are for school use only.

The directory may not be used for any mass or targeted communication by a parent regarding school related topics, commercial or political purposes.

Are you a parent that would like to come eat lunch with your child? Due to limited space in the lunchroom, we are asking that you sign up before coming so we can accommodate everyone. Please see the link below to sign up while spots are available. On another note, if your time slot is filled and it is your child's birthday (or grandma/grandpa are in town on a day not available) please let us know in the office!

The annual Falcon Fun Run is one of the PTA’s main fundraisers for the year. It is an exciting event not only for our students who will compete for the coveted Stinky Shoe Award, but also for families who are able to attend and cheer them along. For more information, including ways to volunteer during the event and to begin collecting donations, access the Fun Run website linked below. Register your student(s) as early as possible, and good luck to our runners on the day of the event!

Arrival and dismissal are going fairly smoothly, although we still have a couple reminders:

• Please DO NOT pull around cars in the front car loop
• Pull all the way up to "cone 1"
• K-2 are to be dropped off in the west parking lot loop; 3-5 in the east parking lot loop
• Stay in your car during arrival/dismissal- we will help your children!

The Library is in need of a few parent volunteers to help with inventory. This process requires scanning each book in the library. It’s not hard, but it is very time consuming. If you are interested, please contact Michelle Wisdom michelle.wisdom@usd232.org with dates and/or times you can be available. Thank you.

Here is a link to the Remarkably Resilient Together parent event. September 17 at 6:30 p.m., Cedar Trails Exploration Center. This program was especially created to teach regulation to everyone while also highlighting the importance of self-care. Parents/Guardians are asked to RSVP, as space is limited. Children in grades 6-12 may attend with their parents/guardians.

USD 232 is implementing a new visitor management system this year through Centegix. All visitors will continue checking in through the office, however an ID will be a requirement. This ID will be entered into the Centegix system and will create a sticker with a picture that must be visibly worn throughout the building. Nobody will be allowed in the building without an ID. Thank you in advance for your patience as we implement this new system!

Believe it or not, Fall Parent Teacher Conferences are already around the corner! Join us in showing our appreciation for our teachers & staff during the parent teacher conferences, September 25th and 26th. Please consider donating food items listed on the below Signup Genius.

Now that school is underway and everyone is hard at work, we hope you will check out your student’s classroom wish list and consider donating items needed for a great year. We have also gathered lists of all of the RE staff’s favorite things if you would like to show your appreciation throughout the year.

If you would like to support our school we would love you as a sponsor! Funds raised through sponsorships will benefit various items throughout the school year like events, field trips, and educational apps.

As a PTA, our ability to provide support for Riverview students and families comes from the generosity of those who volunteer to chair or serve on committees, as well as coordinate events and projects. We invite you to join our PTA community and volunteer, whether a contribution of time and/or talent, every bit helps build successful experiences for our school.

We would love to find more volunteers for our family night events!
