November, a time to count our blessings and be thankful for all we have! Despite of the chaos of the world abroad, we at GEARS are very thankful to be able to work with our wonderful children and keep them safe!
There are numerous things that are happening in this month. Please, please read the below to see important information for upcoming events, closures, and other important information about GEARS Kids Center.
November 8th is a Non-School Day, the link for this day was shared in the October Newsletter. November 22nd is a Non-School Day this was shared in the October Newsletter, and the Week of Thanksgiving was also shared in the October Newsletter. GEARS is closed for Thanksgiving and Black Friday. December 2nd is a Non-School Day, this link was shared in the October Newsletter.
Thank you to all who participated in our "Cookie Dough" Fundraiser. Our next fundraiser will be "Lil Caesars" in January 2025. Our hopes is to have the orders delivered in time for Super Bowl Parties for February 9, 2025.
GEARS Kids Center will be hosting our Annual GEARS Family Thanksgiving Luncheon on Tuesday, November 26th at noon. Your children will be able to partake in the meal with our staff, Senior Center and the Recreation Department Staff as well. We will serve turkey/gravy and all of the fixings.
Note that the School District is closed for the week of Thanksgiving. Kids Center will host 3 Non-School Days, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. GEARS is closed for Thursday and Friday. If your child is planning to attend all 3 full days, the charge will be $165.00 for the week. If your child is not attending this holiday week, there are two options: one, you use your school year "Vacation Credit" or pay your regular weekly fee of which program your child is in. (Before and After, Kindergarten, Preschool) This was noted in the 24-25 Contract.
Looking ahead to December, GEARS Kids Center is closed between Christmas and New Year. The dates are December 23rd to January 1st, 2025. GEARS will re-open on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025.
Mark your calendars for our "Winter Wonderland with Santa" on Friday, December 13th from 6-8 pm. Sign up with the link below, so we know how many cookies we will need to provide. Santa will be coming from the North Pole to take photos, we will be offering a "Hot Chocolate Bar" and "Cookie Bar". Bingo and other crafts will be available as well. Hope to see many of our families to celebrate the Holiday with you!

@giant through their "Make a Difference Challenge"; graciously donated $5000.00 to our organization. The award will be used in three areas of our Community Center. This award will assist in each of our programs to provide healthy food and relationships for the Senior Center and Kids Center to have more events. Our Recreation Center will use the funding to assist in their "Camp Lady Bug" programming in the Summer.
