Senior Breakfast
Every May, Sabino's PTSA organizes, funds, and hosts a special celebration for our graduating seniors—SENIOR BREAKFAST! This is a gala event just for seniors the day before graduation, where students enjoy a catered breakfast, fun activities, commemorative speeches, and a senior slideshow. It’s a long standing tradition at Sabino High; a way for us to send off our graduates with love and appreciation, as well as reward them for their scholastic achievements. Parents & staff help us plan this memorable event—it takes a village to put it all together! While we do fundraise throughout the year, we also reach out to Tucson businesses to seek support as our funding is limited.

Info You Should Know
STUDENT PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF
Parents: Please be advised that drop-off before school and pick-up after school is located in the NORTH PARKING LOT ONLY. Pick-up/Drop-off is not permitted in the bus bay, student parking lot, or staff parking lot.
VISITOR CHECK-IN
All individuals, including parents, planning to access any part of the campus during the school day must present a Photo I.D. at the school’s south entrance and sign in at the Attendance Office in the Administration Building. Visitors are issued a badge (or sticker) to be worn during their stay. Visitors are not permitted on campus during lunch. Only parents are allowed to bring their student lunch. Students are never allowed to leave campus during the school day with other students.
CLOSED CAMPUS POLICY
Sabino High School is a closed campus. Students leaving campus without permission will face progressive disciplinary action. Students are to remain on campus during the lunch period. Students may leave campus when their schedule of classes is completed. Students who have early dismissal may not stay on campus and may only return after the school day is over.
FOOD DELIVERIES
Food deliveries to students can only be made by the student's parent or guardian and must be checked in to the Attendance Office. Door Dash, UberEats, Post Mates, or any other food delivery service is strictly prohibited and will be turned away at the gate even if it has been pre-paid. This is to ensure the safety of all students and staff on campus.
BLOCKED PHONE CALLS
Occasionally, important information is communicated to our families via phone calls. If Sabino's number is blocked you may not receive Parent Links, teacher calls, emergency calls, or attendance calls from Sabino.
Sabino Cell Phone Policy
Studies have shown a strong link between cell phone use, social media, decreased student achievement, and increased student discipline incidents. Additionally, there is evidence of increased mental health challenges among students related to smartphones and social media.
In response, schools nationwide have begun implementing policies to restrict cell phone use during class time. These policies have resulted in higher student achievement, reduced discipline incidents, and increased student engagement. They have also fostered more educationally focused conversations at home.
For the 2024-2025 school year, Sabino High School has implemented the following cell phone policy:
- When students enter the classroom, they will lock their cell phones in their assigned lockers at the beginning of each class period. Students will hold onto their locker keys during the class period but will not take the keys from class to class.
- At the end of each class period, students will retrieve their cell phones and leave the keys in their lockers before proceeding to the next period.
- Students will have access to their phones during conference periods, passing periods, and lunch. Refusal to abide by this policy will result in progressive discipline.
Exceptions will be made for documented medical needs. If your student has a documented medical need, please contact Sabino Administration.
To support this new policy, every student will need to check out a school-issued laptop for use in the classroom for educational purposes.
We look forward to your support and partnership as we strive to position our students for success and help them reach their maximum potential. Our goal is to make their time at Sabino enjoyable, memorable, and productive, in line with our vision of Educating to Excel.
INTERSCHOLASTICS
Spring Sports Are Under Way!
If your student plans on playing sports this year, they must have the athletic pack emailed or brought into the Activities Office before the start date! If the packet is not received by that date, they will not be able to practice or participate.
In this packet, there are instructions on how to complete the ATS online profile, which needs to be done every year by every student.
Also in the packet are the instructions on how to complete the BrainBook. This only needs to be completed once and will not be required year after year.
You may fill out the Athletic Packet and email it to Bert Carrillo or you may bring it directly to the Activities Office. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Bert Carrillo at 520-584-7707. LETS GO SABERCATS!
CATS WIN PROGRAM
Cat Activities Together Succeed - We Intervene Now
Each school year, Sabino's staff requests that students and their parents that are involved in interscholastic activities, help fight a very large problem--substance abuse. Together we can send a message to our community that Sabino students do not use drugs. To become a part of Sabino's activity program, all students and parents will be asked to sign a pledge card that states:
I PLEDGE TO REFRAIN FROM THE USE OR POSSESSION OF DRUGS, ALCOHOL OR TOBACCO, AND WILL ABIDE BY ALL TRAINING RULES WHILE PARTICIPATING IN INTERSCHOLASTIC ACTIVITIES AT SABINO HIGH SCHOOL DURING THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR. I HAVE READ THE CATS WIN POLICY AND UNDERSTAND THAT A VIOLATION ON MY BEHALF MAY JEOPARDIZE PARTICIPATION IN INTERSCHOLASTIC ACTIVITIES. I UNDERSTAND PLEDGE CARD VIOLATIONS WILL RESULT IN DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS.
There will be a mandatory meeting for ALL students involved in interscholastic activities and their parents to discuss the CATS WIN Program on Thursday, August 15th, 2024 at 5:30 pm. in the school auditorium. Parents unable to attend the mandatory meeting should contact the head coach or sponsor.
STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN ACTIVITIES UNTIL THE PLEDGE CARD IS SIGNED BY THE STUDENT AND PARENT.
