Sundays From The Mesa # 1
August 12th-16th, 2024
Welcome Back To 2024-25 School Year!!!
Dear Alta Mesa Families,
The start to the 24-25 school year is only days away. The Alta Mesa teachers have been busy getting their classrooms ready for their students and our custodians have been busy deep cleaning our campus for the arrival of students on Wednesday, August 14th.
For both our returning parents and new parents my name is Courtney Haedrich and I am the new principal here at Alta Mesa. It is an honor to be a part of this school community. Our goal at Alta Mesa is to "Enrich the Hearts and Minds" of all our students so that they leave feeling inspired to seek out their potential in life.
In order to create the best possible educational environment for our students we believe in the school to home partnership. Alta Mesa is considered a Community School where we seek out to provide support and resources to our families beyond the normal school day. A big piece of the partnership between school and home is communication. Every week I send home this newsletter to parents through email and text accompanied by a phone call that summarizes the key highlights. This newsletter is the backbone of the school-to-home communication at Alta Mesa. All important pieces of information is found here. Please take the time to look over this newsletter week to week. Please make sure to read over this newsletter each week for the most up to date information.
Our campus will be open on Tuesday, August 13th from 11:30 AM- 1 PM for our Alta Mesa "Meet and Greet" for families and students to find their classrooms. I am looking forward to meeting some of you then. If you still are unsure of who your child's teacher is please log onto powerschool as class lists are no longer posted publicly. If you are unsure how to log into powerschool please call our office at (530) 224- 4130.
This is going to be a great year!!! We will see everyone on Wednesday. Please make sure to read through the entirety of this newsletter for all the important back to school information. Enjoy the last few days of summer!
Thank You,
Courtney Haedrich

School Meet and Greet - August 13th 11:30-1:00
We create space for our students to find their classrooms and meet their teachers prior to the first day of school. Beginning Of The Year Information
Parent Portal Log-In
All parents, including new parents, should have logged into the Parent Portal at some point already. Why do you need to create a parent account? This is a secure platform through which you will view your child's teacher/class, receive your child’s report card, complete enrollment, and complete the necessary beginning-of-the-year school forms like your child's emergency card. In the future, this is also how state testing results will be communicated.
Click HERE for the link to the parent portal. If you cannot log-in successfully, please call our school's office at 224-4130. Be sure to keep your log-in information in a safe but accessible place.
Free Breakfast/Lunch for All Students
Alta Mesa is fortunate in that we have an amazing cafeteria staff (lead by Mrs. Claudia O'Dell pictured here) that provide top notch service to our students. All students eat well balanced meals at Alta Mesa and no student pays for breakfast or lunch! So don't fret about packing that lunch as our cafeteria is always available!
Our 4th/5th Grade Dismissal Time has slightly Changed (See schedule below)

Dress Code Reminders
As you begin your school shopping please remember students need to dress appropriately for a school day filled with lots of activities. Comfortable and safe footwear and clothing that allows for movement during recess and PE are the best way to support your student for school success.
Clothing should not be a distraction to the learning environment. Attached is a Dress Code for your reference that coincides with the EESD Dress Code guidelines for all schools.
We appreciate your support in helping students stay focused and safe while at school.
