DPSCD Universal Wellness Screener
Virtual School Parents,
Universal Wellness Screener Window is open NOW through November 8th.
The Universal Wellness Screener (UWS) is DPSCD's unique survey designed to identify students who could benefit from and/or need behavioral, mental, and/or emotional health wellness support. The survey can be given to all students, but schools are expected to administer it to all 3rd—to 12th-grade students.
The Universal Wellness Screener is administered through a single sign-on link and should take 10 minutes. Remember that the link will only work when the student is logged into the computer with their credentials. It will not work for staff.
The well-being of our students is still a top priority. If you do not want your child to participate in the school wellness surveys, then please opt out within three days of receiving this letter by calling the Virtual School or emailing Principal Lake with the subject line "UWS 24-25 Opt-Out Request."
Should you have questions or concerns about the wellness survey, please contact Principal Lake @ (313) 644-0200.

Congratulations Principal Montgomery!
Dear Virtual School Family,
I hope this message finds you well. I am thrilled to announce some exciting news about one of our very own, Dr. Janeene Montgomery! After over 20 years of dedicated service to Detroit families and schools, Dr. Montgomery has been appointed as the new Principal of Thurgood Marshall K-8. Please join me in congratulating her on this incredible achievement!
Although Dr. Montgomery is taking on this new leadership role, we are fortunate that she will continue to be a resource and expert in seeing the DPSCD Virtual School family thrive. She will always be known as one of the original Victors! Her new school is gaining a true gem!
As she transitions into her new role, we celebrate this next chapter in her career and wish her all the best as she continues to make a positive impact in the lives of students and families.
