Message from the Superintendent
Similar to last month, I wanted to keep my message short in an attempt to reduce confusion with the different work going on around CSD. I wanted to share some highlights from the month, though.
1) We had many great events over the past month. A few highlights came to mind: Family Night, The Addams Family performance, PTO Sponsored Read-a-Thon, co-curricular success, student-led celebration of CTE Month/FBLA/FFA, Battle of the Books, CHS Unified Basketball Game, Youth Apprenticeship success, and so much more. I don't want to devalue anything omitted from the list, as I know there was much more that happened worth celebrating. Each day our students and staff amaze me!
2) We were thrilled to receive feedback from a variety of individuals and groups on our Legacy Priorities. We are going through the responses to identify themes. In the future, we will provide an update.
3) We hope there is a great turnout for the 2025 Spring Election. Please remember that a Columbus School District Operational Referendum question is on the ballot for CSD residents. A "yes" vote supports the operational referendum, and a "no" vote opposes the question. We enjoyed connecting with parents, school groups, community members, civic groups, and other stakeholders at our different events. We were able to participate in over 40 engagement opportunities. Please remember that the school district's referendum website has great information. Furthermore, feel free to reach out with any questions.
We hope everyone had an enjoyable spring break. Keep in mind that we are entering the heavy portion of the state assessment window. We encourage you to help support your child(ren). We look forward to great things throughout the rest of the school year at CSD!
Go Cards!

2025 Operational Referendum
The Columbus School District School has an Operational Referendum question on the upcoming April 1, 2025 ballot. The referendum question is a four (4) year non-recurring referendum for $1,750,000 beginning with the 2025-26 school year and ending with the 2028-29 school year.
The goal is to provide every voter the opportunity to be informed. For information regarding the Operational Referendum, you are invited to visit https://www.columbus.k12.wi.us/referendum
2024-2025 Inclement Weather/School Cancellations
For your safety and that of your children, this message is to inform you of how you will be notified of weather-related school closings. All parents who have updated information with the district on file should receive an email, text message, or phone call from the school informing them of a school closing. Your communication method that you receive will be based on what you selected as a preference for Infinite Campus. The most common types of weather-related school closings are: full-day school closing, 2-hour delay, or early dismissal. Early childhood and 4K typically follow the same closing schedule. In the event of a 2-hour delay, there usually is no school for early childhood or AM 4K, either. On days with a 2-hour delay, typically afternoon 4K students will have school. There could be an occasion where PM 4K is canceled in anticipation of a possible early release.
If you have recently changed your phone number or email address, please check with the office at your child's school to see if we have your most up to date contact information on file. Let's have a safe and warm winter together!
