Students who are recognized will be honored with a certificate, have their names announced at an All School Meeting, will be showcased in the Glendale monthly newsletter and will get to enjoy a cinnamon roll breakfast with Mrs. Molitor & the other recipients during morning meeting.
Congratulations to all of the students that received this award for April & during the 2023-2024 school year! We are VERY proud of you & look forward to continuing the C.A.R.E.S. breakfasts next fall!
EARLY RELEASE- LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!
We have a 3 hour early release on Wednesday, June 5th, our last day. A bag lunch will be served to students on that day. All students will be dismissed at 12:50 pm. Please make plans accordingly. We request that all students follow their normal routine home as usual on this busy day. This will help to insure that children get home safely.
A big Thank You to our DOGS for helping make this happen!! We couldn't do it without your support!
OPTIMIST LUNCH
In honor of Youth Appreciation Week, the Prior Lake- Savage Optimist Club celebrated with a recognition lunch at Fong's mid-May. We had two Glendale 5th graders who were nominated; Easton Kesselring from Mr. Geisler's class & Liliana Palazzola from Mrs. Erpenbach's class.
These two were recognized for demonstrating sincere devotion to the welfare of others through their service to fellow students, school, community, city or others; along with their willingness to take on projects, concerns for others and desire to improve our society/school environment. Congratulations! We are so proud of you both!
2023-2024 STAKEHOLDER SURVEY RESULTS
Dear Glendale Families,
We recently received the results for the Student, Parent/Caregiver, and Staff Experience Surveys that were administered in February, 2024. This year we focused on the question, I receive positive phone calls, emails, or notes about my child from the school. Our results from last year were 3.89 and this year the results were 4.05. We saw an overall gain of 0.16. Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the survey; your feedback will be valuable to our continuous improvement.

2024-25 WELCOME DAYS FOR GRADES 1-5
We will be having "Welcome & Assessment Days" on Tuesday, September 3rd & Wednesday, September 4th where your student(s) will get a chance to meet their teacher and learn a little more of how the schedule will look. *Please look for a sign up link to come later this summer. If you have any questions please call the Glendale Office at 952.226.0200
PLSAS elementary schools will again hold "Great Start to Kindergarten." Designated days in
August were set aside for incoming Kindergarten students to come in prior to the school
year to be assessed. This gave the teachers an excellent indication where those students
were academically, so that curriculum planning could begin on day one. This year practice will continue and the date for our Kindergarten assessments will be August 7th.

*Please note: If your student(s) has a negative account balance, they will not be eligible to receive seconds of the entree.
If this is a hardship for your family & you need assistance, you may apply for the Free/Reduced Lunch program by filling out a form that can be found on the Parent Page of the district website under the School Cafe Logo.
DIGITAL WELL BEING TIPS
Help kids spot fake news and become critical thinkers when reading information from the Media.
Encourage healthy skepticism. Help them analyze the messages around them -- from toy packaging to news headlines -- and question the purpose of the words and images they see.
Explore different sides of a story. Use real-life examples to help kids understand how people can view the same situation with totally different perspectives. One child might experience a game on the playground as fun, while another might feel like the rules are unfair.
Discuss fact vs fiction. Play around with ideas and decide which are facts and which are opinions. Ask: How tall are you? What's the best food in the world? Do rocks sink or float? Do you like dogs? Point out that both facts and opinions show up in the news, but opinion is usually labeled.
Choose a variety of sources. Show kids how you get news and information from different places, and explain how you make your choices. Use words like "credible," "trustworthy," "respected," and "fair." As kids get older, introduce the ideas of bias, satire, and clickbait.

MUSIC CONCERT LINKS
Hi everyone!
Here are the 1st-3rd grade concerts if you would like to take a look! They all did so well, and I couldn't be more proud! Thank you to all who helped make it all happen, especially Jess Kroyer and her team, the PE team for the use of the gym, and a HUGE shoutout to my son, Andrew, for helping with all of the details for all of the concerts. I truly couldn't have done it without him all of these years--especially this year with my hip issues. I'll be thankful for a new hip in the fall! I'm working on getting the choir concert video up for everyone soon! These are all videos you don't want to miss! Enjoy!
