COMMUNITY UPDATE
Hello North Rockland Families,
As we move further into spring and closer to the final stretch of the 2024-25 school year, our students continue to dig deep into their studies and our event calendar is filling rapidly with performances, competitions, presentations and exhibits.
On Wednesday, we celebrated the grand opening of the North Rockland Family Resource Center Food Pantry and Boutique at the Neary Educational Center. This vital community resource was made possible through the dedication of our staff, the generous support of community organizations and strong collaboration with families and school leadership. We are excited to officially open its doors and provide a space that reflects our district’s commitment to equity, wellness and community care.
The momentum continued on Thursday with College Decision Day, a nationwide celebration - and a special one at North Rockland High School - as we recognized our graduating seniors and their plans for the future. Whether heading to SUNY campuses, private universities, trade schools, military service or the workforce, these students are boldly stepping into their next life chapter. We applaud the Class of 2025 for their hard work throughout their high school journey. Congratulations, Raiders - make us proud!
As we shift into May and the warmer days ahead, there’s no better time to get moving and make wellness a priority. Our NRCSD Health Advisory Council recently released its spring Wellness Newsletter, filled with helpful tips and local happenings to support healthy habits across our school community. From new ways to exercise and nutritious seasonal recipes to guidance on sun safety and mental well-being, the newsletter offers ideas to support a healthy spring season.
Looking ahead to this weekend, the Annual NR Sports and Law Enforcement Day will take place this Saturday, May 3 at the Town of Haverstraw Recreation Facility in Garnerville. Student-athletes will run a variety of sports stations, while local law enforcement will provide live demonstrations and interactive activities. In addition to promoting community partnership, this event also supports important causes, raising funds and awareness for Stand Up To Cancer, Friends of Karen, the Boomer Esiason Foundation and the North Rockland community. Join us tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a day of fun, community spirit and support for great causes!

Lola Calli
Lola is a sophomore on the JV Softball team at North Rockland High School. Lola is known as someone who shows up to practice every day with a great attitude. She has been asked to play a position she does not play often, and she never complains. She has had a great season so far, doing great hitting, and is a really good teammate. Her coach said, “She has been working really hard every practice and game and always strives to get better.”
