NSCAS TESTING IN APRIL
Testing for NSCAS, the State of Nebraska Yearly Test, will take place in April.
- Students will turn-in their iPads to their advisement teacher March 29th, in order to ensure that iPads are present and charged for testing. Student iPads will be returned after the testing window, on April 9, 2024.
- Students will complete the three state tests over 6 days in April. - Testing calendar included.
- Students will test with their advisement classes.
- Students will follow an alternative bell schedule on test days to allow for testing to happen in the morning.
Eight helpful tips to help you prepare for testing
- iPADS: Make sure your student brings their charged iPad to school! Students will check in their iPad and iPad charger during advisement the week of March 26 so it is ready to go for testing. We use iPads every day for testing.
- BE ON TIME: Attendance Matters! Make sure your child attends school every day. Make sure your child gets up early enough so that they will be on time to school.
- CHECK THE DATES: Mark down test days on your calendar so you and your child are both aware of testing dates (see included calendar below).
- SLEEP: Make sure that your child gets enough sleep on the night before the test.
- EAT BREAKFAST: Ensure that your child eats a healthy breakfast, avoid heavy foods that may make him/her groggy, and avoid high sugar foods that may make him/her hyper.
- DON'T STRESS: Talk about the test with your child to help relieve stress about test taking.
- PRAISE: Praise your child for their hard work preparing for a test.
- STAY POSITIVE: Keep a positive attitude about tests.
