The Llewellyn Friday Flyer
May 10, 2024
Dear Families,
There is never a dull moment at Llewellyn! This week I had the opportunity to be a Guest Teacher in our Kindergarten and CB 3-5 classroom. I am always excited when I have the opportunity to be with our students for a full day. I was so impressed by their progress and how helpful students were to me and to each other.
The 5th grade spent the night at Camp Collins. They had the opportunity to participate in some adventurous learning activities: hiking; testing their problem solving skills on the climbing wall and a low ropes course. At night they participated in skits and a campfire. What a great way to build community in a new environment and spend quality time together! I can't wait to hear some of their stories!
Thursday night we had a great turnout for Kindergarten Craft Night. Students and parents made new connections and friends while creating a collective art project. Building Community is the name of the game! Thank you to Erin Hughes for volunteering to lead the event each year and to Kellie for all your help communicating and preparing materials for the event.
Thank you Lindsay for spearheading the Walk and Roll Day on Wednesday. So fun to earn some cool swag while exercising and helping the environment!
On behalf of the entire Llewellyn Staff, I want to thank you for the generous out pouring of love and support we felt this week during Staff Appreciation Week. The incredibly thoughtful door decorations, scrumptious treats, fantastic lunches, flowers cards, and school supplies made each day so special. We are truly fortunate to work in this AMAZING community.
Happy Mother's Day to all who provide love, care, and nurturing of our fantastic students. I hope you are able to relax and enjoy the fantastic weather with friends and family!
Have a great weekend!
Principal Pam
2023-24 Llewellyn Yearbooks: Many of you have been asking about yearbooks this year. I am happy to share that this year every student will receive this year's yearbook (put together by our own incredible Kellie) for free! This is my way of saying thank you to all our amazing students and families who have made my time at Llewellyn special. They will be arriving soon. We will hold them until the last week of school. Teachers will decide when to distribute them in the last days of school. I can't wait for you to see them! Thank you to all who sent in photos!
Student Information Form (for Class Placement 2024-25 SY)
We would like to offer you the opportunity to share some information about your child and the type of learning environment which works best for them. If you wish to complete THIS FORM, please return it to the school office by Friday, May 10, 2024. Copies of this form are available outside the office.
At Llewellyn, we work hard to balance our classes in terms of learning ability and behavior characteristics. Your input will help us! Thanks for taking the time to fill out this form.
From the Office
Parents, if you know your student(s) will not be returning to Llewellyn next year, please let the Office know as soon as possible. This helps with planning our class lists for next year (starting soon), as well as making it possible for your new school to register your student(s) for next year. You can email Mark (mrobb@pps.net) or Kellie (kgrunde@pps.net).
Your Voice Matters!
The Successful School Survey is our annual district-wide school climate and feedback survey. This is the only time the district hears from students, staff and families system-wide. Gathering this data will help us understand experiences at our schools. School climate is a key component influencing outcomes for students. Your feedback helps the district gather data to make informed decisions about school climate and culture.
The survey will take approximately 15-30 minutes to complete and is available in English, Spanish, Russian, Somali, Vietnamese, and Chinese.

Llewellyn is striving for 100% participation this year! An email was sent from the district with more information. Any questions please reach out to Ms. Kellie (kgrunde@pps.net).
3rd–5th grade Parents
We are closing in on the end of the year and that means it is almost time for your student(s) to turn in their Chromebook! Students will be turning them in sometime on June 10th – 12th (your teacher will have the day and time), with the 13th available for last-minute, individual returns. Students are expected to return their Chromebook, Power Cord, and Case. Starting this year, lost Cords and Chromebooks will be charged to the student.
If you would like your student(s) to have their Chromebook available to them for the summer, please print, fill out, and sign (both parent AND student) THIS FORM and have your student return it to school, instead of their Chromebook, on their class’ appointed day and time. Copies of the form are also available outside the office for pick-up.
Any student who does not return either the summer form, or their Chromebook, will be considered to have lost their device. Lost devices are immediately deactivated remotely and will not be able to be used.
If you have any questions, please contact Mark in the office.

News from the PTA
PTA Happenings
Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week was the bomb!!!!! Our Llewellyn community really showed some love to some of the freshest teachers and staff around this week. The teachers all loved their special surprises all week and we really loved seeing all the fly 90s gear on Tuesday. We want to give some quick shout outs to a few of our community and parent-owned businesses for providing some yummy breakfasts and lunches during the week to our tight crew:
Henry Higgins Bagels (discount)
Melisa Pierson, Windermere Realty (breakfast sponsor)
Sheema Shariat, Blue Kangaroo Coffee Roasters (coffee donation)
Coco Donuts (discount)
Starbucks (coffee donation)
Rue Cler (huge discount and special menu item created for our staff)
Megan Sterzinger, Black Cat Bakery (discounted cookies)
And as if we could forget all of the Llewellyn parents and community members who made our staff feel like all that and a bag of chips! Thank you to everyone who decorated a door, sent food items and made donations. These events would not be possible without all your help. Our community is amazing no doubt!
Our final PTA meeting will be May 21 at 7 p.m. and will be a Zoom meet up. We know how hard the end of the year is for everyone so please arrive if and when you can. We are approving the new budget and the new board for the 2024-2025 school year. We would love to have input from our community members and to hear any ideas or suggestions for next year’s fundraising. We will send the link out that week on Konstella.
The Llewellyn Carnival is our final event of the year and brings our entire community together! It is coming up next month and we will need loads of volunteers. Put it on your calendar and we will be making an announcement soon!

From The Foundation
In last Tuesday's meeting, the PPS school board voted to overhaul local school foundations like Llewellyn's starting in July. There will be more information available in the coming weeks about the transition but it is important to note that funds raised through June 30 will still benefit Llewellyn in the 24-25 school year. Thank you to everyone who has contributed this year - through April 2024, we have raised over $49,000 (66%) towards our goal of $75,000. You can still donate HERE through June.
Still need to pick up your sign and magnet? Email below to arrange pick up.
