FAFSA UPDATE
Although the advertised opening date for the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) was scheduled for December 1st, the official website and other publications are now stating that the FAFSA application is open for everyone to complete. Click HERE to proceed with completing the application.
SallieMae Support Materials
For guidance on how to complete the FAFSA Application, click on any of the free resources below offered through SallieMae. Keep in mind that the first step to completing the application requires both the student and at least one parent (depending on your tax and living situation) to gain an FSA (Federal Student Aid) ID which will take 3-5 days to be created before you can start the FAFSA.
Who needs to complete the FAFSA?
It is highly encouraged that any student applying to any level college complete the FAFSA application as this is the primary means used to determine which students qualify to receive federal financial assistance and/or need-based monies/scholarships from colleges. In many cases, colleges require the completion of the FAFSA as part of their application process, so it must be completed regardless.
