2025-2026 Enrollments - Applications Opening March 2025
Preschool will be FREE for all four year olds next year!
Under Governor Whitmer's Pre-K For All plan, preschool will be free for all children who turn four by September 1, 2025, beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. We anticipate the application process looking much the same as it has in previous years, but are waiting on confirmation of that from the State of Michigan.
Tuition-Based Slots will still be available for three year olds next year!
Currently enrolled families will receive enrollment information for next year in early March 2025; they will also receive priority tuition enrollment for younger siblings who turn three by September 1, 2025.
Did you know that you can use your HSA to pay for preschool tuition?
If you are in need of financial assistance to pay for preschool tuition, we recommend applying for the DHHS Child Care Subsidy. Please know that most families are denied the first time they apply, but we recommend re-applying.
No Preschool January 31 and February 28, 2025
Although the district is open, there is no preschool on January 31 or February 28, 2025 due to staff PD and meetings. Eagle Club is closed for preschool on these days.

Substitute Teachers

We are still looking for a couple more four year olds for FREE preschool!
GSRP rules state that at certain intervals, the income level of students who qualifies increases. At this time, any family in the community who is still looking for free four year old preschool slots is strongly encouraged to visit Argentine's enrollment page, where there is information on the process and links for the two applications that have to be completed. Students must be four before December 1. We do still have a handful of four-day, half-day slots for four year olds. There are minimal five-day, full-day slots for three year olds available as well.
It's Cold Outside!
We will still go outside unless it is below freezing. Please make sure that your child comes to school each day with outerwear appropriate for the weather. Once it snows, all children will need a coat, snow pants, boots, gloves and a hat every day. If it is easier to just leave these items at school, please let us know to keep them here. If your family is in need of assistance with warm weather clothing for your child please reach out to your child's teacher.
My Child Is Sick- Now What?
Notify Your Child's Teacher
Please call your child's classroom to report an illness.
How Sick is Too Sick?
- Fever over 100 degrees Fahrenheit (with or without fever reducing medication) within the last 24 hours
- Vomiting, diarrhea, upset belly within the last 24 hours
- Rash of any kind within the last 24 hours
- Persistent cough, green snotty nose, etc.
- Illness diagnosed by a medical professional as being contagious, until medically cleared to return
- A great rule of thumb to follow is: If I have to give my child medication to feel better, or if my child isn't well enough to play outside, he or she isn't well enough to come to school.
Why Does My Child Keep Getting Sick?
It can often be very frustrating to parents when their young child seems to be sick every other week. But this is a part of establishing healthy immune systems, and is actually a good (albeit inconvenient) thing! For many children, preschool is the first time they have been exposed to so many germs. Young children inherently put things in their mouths, touch their faces, etc., which leads to the sharing of all kinds of yucky germs.
The classrooms are cleaned daily. Tables are washed before and after meals. And we'll establish frequent handwashing routines right from the get-go. You can help by reinforcing these habits at home and by keeping your little one home when they're under the weather. If your family chooses to vaccinate, flu and covid vaccines are available from most pharmacies and doctor's offices, often free of charge.
How can I help at home?
It is very helpful to engage your child in the following activities as often as possible!
- Read to and with your child. Identify familiar words around your home and around town.
- Practice identifying letters, especially those in your child's name
- Practice opening lunch items
- Practice putting on/taking off jackets, boots, mittens, etc.
