These scholarships will be open to seniors beginning December 1st. LCEF Scholarship applications will be due by Feb 28th. Seniors are strongly encouraged to begin their applications early!
Sophomore ASVAB Testing
All Sophomores will be taking the ASVAB Test on Friday, December 13th from 8am - 11am. Students will review their ASVAB test results as part of the Sophomore Seminar Course. The ASVAB results provide our students with the opportunity to explore a variety of career pathways and options best suited for them. These pathways include careers that require a post-secondary degree, work-based learning opportunities, skilled trade careers and the military.
Sophomore Tech Center Visits
Sophomores will tour the LISD Tech Center on Thursday, December 5th from 9am -11:30am. There will also be a Tech Center Open House on Thursday, December 12th from 5:30pm - 7:30pm for both students and parents. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the Career and Technical Education Programs available to our students in their junior & senior year.
Educational Benefits Form
Please take a moment to fill out the Educational Benefits form. The Application for School Meals and Summer EBT with the Michigan School Meals Program collects information needed to ensure the school receives state and federal funding for education programs. Without this information, Madison School could lose important state funding for educational programs that our students are entitled to.
Furthermore, students who qualify for Free/Reduced Lunch may be eligible for fee waivers or reductions on college scholarships and AP exam fees.
Classroom Highlights!
Spanish 2A visits the Sofia Quintero Arts and Cultural Center
Students from Mrs. Wallace's 2A Spanish classes visited the Sofia Quintero Arts and Cultural Center in Toledo, OH. The students got an opportunity to learn more about "El Dia de los Muertos", took a cooking class to learn how to make "esquites" and painted a craft to celebrate "El Dia de los Muertos".
Our students then wrapped up their first trimester of Spanish 2 by creating projects to show what they learned about day of the dead. Many students choose to build their own "Ofrendas", some created their own "Alebrijes" and others wrote their own Day of the Dead stories.
