Monterey Trail High School Mission
The Learning Community of Monterey Trail High School Challenges ALL students to realize their greatest potential while preparing them for their future.
Staff Appreciation Week! Share your gratitude
I encourage all to reach out and send a nice message of gratitude to those who have had a positive impact - send an email, drop by with a note, thank them in person...just a little something goes a long way.
Or if you haven't already: Submit a thank you here for us to share with staff
Thank you - it takes us all as one community helping to ensure student success!
Countdown to graduation with busy week ahead...
We also are excited to be celebrating our Seniors who are receiving awards this Thursday night.
Parents/Guardians share your input for continuous improvement
As we approach the end of the school year, we want you to know how much we have appreciated your support over this past year. Your partnership and feedback have helped make this year a success. As we begin to think about next year, we need your feedback to guide our efforts. Please know the Parent/Guardian Perspective Survey is now available and will be open until June 7. The information that you provide through this survey will be used to make further improvements to our school and district programs.
Please complete the 2023-2024 EGUSD Parent/Guardian Perspective Survey at egsurvey.net.
When the District surveyed parents/guardians last year, one of the top priorities our families mentioned was school safety. Watch this short video to learn what we have done about school safety in Elk Grove Unified from Monterey Trail High School Principal Lara Ricks.
Congratulations Boy's Volleyball-round 2 of Playoffs & Track & Field postseason
We are proud of all of our scholar athletes and look forward to the remaining events!
Go Mustangs!
Band has continued success
The Symphonic Band performed at the Elk Grove Band and Orchestra Festival held at CRC and did a great job. The judges scored our Mustangs at a 90, 92 and 93 out of a possible 100 for a rating of Superior.
Way to go!
Congratulations to our Mustangs who earned Elk Grove Regional Scholarships
Mustangs took home over $27,000 towards their college futures
These students were honored with a dinner last week as they were called to the stage to accept their scholarships. It was a beautiful event and so fun to see so many Mustangs on stage!
We are so proud of you all!

First ever Equity Day on the Trail
Our Student Equity Council did AMAZING last Thursday hosting their very first Equity Day.
Thank you to the classes and staff who came through. We asked all students to complete a survey on the way out and we got 112 responses. There was so much positive feedback and we hope to see more days like this in the years to come.
Thank you to Margaret and Mariah Houston for their leadership as advisors and GREAT job to our student leaders.
Mental Health Awareness Month
The purpose of Mental Health Awareness Month (MHAM), which takes place every May, is to increase awareness of the importance of mental health and wellness, reduce the stigma around behavioral health issues, and celebrate recovery from mental illness.
MHAM aims to:
• encourage people to seek help when they need it
• prevent suicide through individual education and outreach events
HELPING RESOURCES:
•Talk to your health care professional, trusted adults at home, or at school, if you need further support for your mental health wellness.
• Receive crisis support: call, text, or chat 988, if you or someone you know is in emotional distress or is feeling suicidal.
•Learn more at Mental Health 101.
•Join us at lunch every Wednesday in the quad for May Mental Health Wellness Activities.
