VISION STATEMENT
Our students will be prepared to positively impact their future, their community, and the world.
Dear AMS Parents and Families,
It is hard to believe that we have begun semester two of the 2024-25 school year! I hope you and your family remained warm, safe, and healthy during our extended school closures due to inclement weather and icy road conditions last week.
I would like to, as always, extend our sincere appreciation to our amazing PTSO. THANK YOU for all you do for our students and staff. We appreciate you!
Thank you, parents, for doing your part to support and encourage your child(ren) to come to school every day ready to ROCK!
Winter NWEA MAP Growth Testing season is underway, and our middle school students are working very hard to show their growth and learning. Our teachers will use this data to assess each student's unique academic strengths and areas for improvement, monitor their progress over time, and guide instructional choices by adapting teaching methods to address their specific needs. Essentially, this involves leveraging data to customize instruction and focus on areas where students require additional support, considering their current learning progress and growth trajectory. Upon completion of all assessments, we will share your child's information with you and discuss any necessary steps to support his or her academic development.
Testing Dates and Schedule: Our testing schedule has been adjusted due to the four days of school closures. Please see the remaining revised dates in the "Mark Your Calendars" section below. Please mark these dates on your calendars, and ensure that your child is present and well-rested on these days.
Communication Channels: If you have any questions or concerns about the standardized testing process, please feel free to reach out to your child's teachers or our school administration. We value open communication and are here to address any questions you may have.
We sincerely appreciate your continued partnership in your child's education. We believe that working together will contribute to a positive and successful testing experience for our middle school students. It is my personal goal to ensure EVERY AMS student continues to have an amazing and successful school year. GO RAIDERS!
With warmest regards,
Barb Lewis
Your Proud AMS Principal
Positivity Project (aka P2)
Bi-weekly P2 family letters are sent to you via email outlining the character strength we are learning about and practicing in school and ways you can support your child at home. Students are participating in enriching team- and relationship-building activities, and students and staff continue to wear and share positivity in our schoolwide mission to "KEEP IT POSITIVE!"
