GOODNOE GAZETTE
November 8, 2024
Dear GES Families,
Goodnoe hosted our annual Veterans Day tribute this morning! The weather was perfect to celebrate and recognize so many veterans here at our school. I want to send a BIG thank you to all of the Veterans and their families who attended, the Veterans Day Planning Committee, students and staff, the PTO, and CR North Marching Band for organizing such a memorable event for special guests. Next week we will share more pictures from this event.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Beth
4th GRADE ANNUAL BOOK FEAST
Each year around Thanksgiving, the 4th grade at Goodnoe celebrates reading with its annual Book Feast. The 4th grade team invites Council Rock administrators and coordinators, as well as some Goodnoe staff members, into our classrooms to read a picture book to our students. Our Book Feast will take place on the morning of Friday, November 22nd. Our students will enjoy reading with some guest readers and we also plan to celebrate our reading with a small breakfast that morning. This time of year is always filled with moments of gratitude and we are so grateful for our CR family.
GRADES 4-6: CYBER SAFETY PRESENTATIONS
The district has invited County Detective Dante Montella, from the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, to speak at all Council Rock schools over the next several weeks. At the elementary level, he will meet with students in grades 4-6 to discuss Cyber Safety on Wednesday, December 11th at 9:30 a.m. We believe Detective Montella’s discussion will be valuable for our students.
HALLOWEEN 2024!

Thank you, Veterans!
We appreciate your service.
You are lifesavers!
Our Veteran's Day Celebration on Friday, November 8th was an amazing success. From the CR North Marching Band to students singing , the event was wonderful to see. Thank you to all the families who came to participate! Of course, the main attraction was our very own Goodnoe Family Vets! It was great to see you there. A most sincere "THANK YOU" to all our Veterans for your service to our country! Stay tuned to next week's newsletter for even more pictures from today's celebration.

WELLNESS SURVEY
Dear Council Rock Community,
As part of the district’s continued efforts to ensure we are addressing all areas of need for our students, we are asking all Council Rock families and staff members to complete the following survey: Council Rock Student Wellness Survey - Formstack.
The survey will be open for responses until midnight on Sunday, November 10th. The feedback you provide in this survey will be used as an additional piece of data to help guide the district in determining which, if any, additional types of support in the areas of emotionality, social skills, and behavior would be helpful for our students.
The survey should take approximately five minutes. We are very grateful for your time and input! If you have difficulty opening the survey link above, it is also accessible on the Council Rock website at Wellness Survey link.
Thank you,
The Council Rock Special Services Team

SCHOOL WIDE POSITIVE BEHAVIOR SUPPORT (PBIS)
During the past few weeks, your child’s class has been reviewing the SW-PBIS (School Wide- Positive Behavior Interventions & Support) school expectations. The lessons included a class discussion, modeling and practicing of respectful, responsible, and safe behaviors in the locations listed on the school-wide matrix. Your child’s class also learned about the voice levels that are expected for the different locations. Earlier this week your child brought home a paper copy of the matrix and voice level chart. Please take some time to review the papers with your child. The copies are for you to keep and refer to at home. There is a half sheet of paper for you and your child to sign and return to your child's homeroom teacher. Thank you for your support!
DOGS/PETS ON SCHOOL GROUNDS
When escorting students to and from school, please do not bring pets on school grounds or into the school building. Many of our children are afraid of animals or have pet allergies; therefore, the presence of animals in school or on school grounds is prohibited. Some classes at Goodnoe Elementary School do participate in the Nor’Wester Reading Dogs program, so on occasion you may see dogs visiting. These dogs are specially trained and licensed to work in the schools with students. No other animals are permitted on school property during school hours. Please refer to our board policy for more information on animals in school policy 105.3 https://go.boarddocs.com/pa/coun/Board.nsf/goto?open&id=AQ5KYB538D2B
