NEWSLETTER | TERM 1 | WEEK 2 | 13 FEBRUARY 2025
The weather has been more pleasant this week, allowing students to fully enjoy our beautiful outdoor spaces. It’s been wonderful to see them making the most of their time outside!
On Tuesday, we held our Parent Information Sessions and Year Six Camp Meeting. Although attendance was low, it was still a valuable opportunity for parents to meet classroom teachers and gain insight into the year ahead. To ensure all families have access to key information, Parent Information Handbooks were posted on Seesaw on Wednesday for future reference. I encourage you to review the details and reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions.
Last year, CEWA reinforced strict protocols for volunteers working within the school, including parents and grandparents. Before participating in any school activities, all volunteers must complete and submit either a Working with Children Check or a Volunteer Declaration. While parents and student volunteers are exempt from the Working with Children Check, grandparents are required to obtain one. Volunteers must complete an online form and present their Working with Children Card at the admin office when signing in. Copies of the Working with Children Volunteer Declaration are available at the front office for those who need them.
A final reminder for families considering holidays during the school term: As a school, we strongly discourage taking extended leave during term time. If your child will be away for an extended period, parents are required to submit a written email or letter to me at least two weeks before departure. Please note that the school will not provide work for students while they are away. Thank you to the families who have already followed this process, we appreciate your cooperation.
Wishing you all a fabulous weekend!
God bless
Rebecca Clarke

Updated Term 1 Parent Planner
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
It’s wonderful to see the students back in the classrooms, engaged and ready to learn. I truly appreciate the support of our school community in making the beginning of the year so positive.
School Mass with St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School
Last Friday 7th February, our Year 1s to 6s gathered with St Anthony’s Wanneroo for a combined whole school Mass. It was wonderful to see the Church filled with students, staff and families from both schools, all coming together in faith and celebration.
A big thank you to Father Leonard for leading us in this special occasion, and it was a proud moment as our student leadership badges were blessed, marking the beginning of their journey in guiding our school community. Just a reminder that our school leaders for 2025 are:
School captains: Ryder and Eleanor
Faith Captain: Niah
Sports Captain: Lachlan D
We look forward to their leadership and contributions in the year ahead!
Year 3/4 Liturgy – Wednesday, 19th February at 2:20 PM
Next Wednesday, the Year 3/4 students will celebrate a liturgy at 2:20 PM at school. Liturgies provide an opportunity for students to come together in structured and communal worship, fostering their spiritual growth and coming closer to God.
Year 5 Assembly – Thursday, 20th February
We warmly invite families to attend the Year 5 assembly, which will be held next Thursday at 8:45 AM in the school hall.
Student Council Selection
We are excited to announce that the following students have been selected to form part of the Student Council for Semester One. They will serve as the voice of the students and play an essential role in representing their peers and contributing to school initiatives:
Year 1 - Hamish and Lucy
Year 2 - Poppie and Ostin
Year 3 - Alberto and Elizabella
Year 4 - Evan and Anna
Year 5 - Ava and Ndinawe
Year 6 - Melinda and Jordan
Congratulations to these students for stepping us as student councillors. We look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make.
Running club
Running Club is on every morning at 8:15 AM on the bottom oval. This is a great way for students to start the day with some exercise and fresh air! A reminder for Year 1 and 2 students: Please check in with your teacher before you start running. We encourage all students to come along, stay active, and have fun! See you on the oval!
Routine and Settling In
We understand that the transition back to school can be challenging for some families, especially after the holiday break. It’s heartening to see students getting into a regular routine, which supports their academic and social development. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need any guidance or support as we continue to settle into the school year.
Warm regards,
Kadir Mastan
Assistant Principal
